A Time To Remember.....
« on: May 22, 2014, 04:13:35 pm »
Ladies/Gents,

Allow me to [re]introduce myself; my name is Chris and I was an active forum participant in 2005-07. My former username was "ChrisNArizona." I have been diagnosed HIV+ 17-years. And despite my ID docs best efforts to fill me with toxic drugs and be done with me ;), I'm alive, kicking and living well. Most days, anyway. Such is life with HIV/AIDS. More on me and my experience living with HIV/AIDS in the weeks forward.

Today, however, is not that day.

Today, I’d like to remember those who are no longer among us here.

Let's thank them for offering their advice, and insight, and wisdom, and bluntness, and coping mechanisms, and smiles, and laughter and everything else that made them special to us.

These forums have lost far too many vibrant and intelligent souls to the insidious disease that is HIV/AIDS.

Please join me and take a moment from your day to remember each and everyone of them.

In your own way.

Whatever that entails.

Just a moment of your time.

And remember that despite remarkable advancements in HIV-therapy, far too many of us continue to die from complications attributable to HIV/AIDS.

My thoughts today are with those who have come before me here.

My life has been enriched from your friendship. Even from afar.

Until we meet again,

-Chris

Chris,

What heart warming sentiments.  I know we all share the joys and sorrows of those whom we called friends and lovers.  Sadly, not a day goes by, when I do not think of those who have moved on...  Forever it has been, and forever it shall be.

I understand because I feel the same way, but even without any endorsement from me I think the way he chose to frame this reintroduction thread says a lot.

But on that note...

Yesterday, I went back through old, OLD mail on here to call up more specific memories of correspondence with Chris.

Just above him in the list, Captain Carl.

Just below, Christine.

To those who have been around here for some time, I don't think I have to say any more.

Chris,  Welcome back and thank you for the post.  As someone who is relatively new to this, I am also grateful to those that have gone before me - from the political and scientific actions to supporting each other - a big thank you!
