Thanks for all the well wishes.

I've been moved to the ward now, CT scan shows the infection is not behind the eye so it's just the skin & tissue. IV antibiotics and they are discussing putting in a drain. Two trains of thought on that, However should know more later today.

Thanks. Just back on the ward from having the face drained and flushed. It feels so much better already, doc said I should be going home in a day or so. The only nastly thing was local anaesthetic did not work as it's inflamed tissue so it was not a plesent experience.

 ;D Thanks guys.

Back home, feeling exhausted but better. Heading back for checkups on Monday with the surgical team and Thursday with the ID clinic.

Apparently there is a cyst or something deeper in my skin that they feel is the cause, should be ok for now but  they want to remove it at a later date, 8-9 months from now or whenever covid-19 is more under control

Glad to hear you are feeling better and the ordeal is almost over. Also happy to hear they have found a possible underlying cause, that is always good. It looked horrendous.

Good luck

Spent the day in hospital and going to be a night as well.

Skin infection in the skin, no need to buy halloween costume anymore ;D

So not been posting much this last week, as despite having the cyst removed, I'm having the same issues again two years later.  :(

However, I managed to start oral antibiotics 1000 mg 4x a time within a few hours of the first symptoms, and it looks like I will just about avoid a hospital stay. Thank goodness for that.

It spread incredibly fast and got very swollen, so I will follow up with the Hospital later to ensure the cause is not another cyst or anything that was missed.
