I made it home safely
« on: August 22, 2006, 11:37:36 pm »
I FINALLY got in a few minutes ago, at almost 10:30pm.   After having not rained more than a few drops all summer long, tonight we got the storm of the century...had to circle Birmingham for about 30 minutes before we were able to land.  I was holding my eyes open with one hand and driving with the other one, trying to get back home from the airport (one hour drive).

I'm exhausted, and glad to be home.   I'll post more tomorrow after I get some sleep and can compose my thoughts a little better.

This has been a fantastic trip, one of the high points of my life.   So many wonderful people....

Hugs & goodnight,
Alan

PS - Fang has already set in to 'ignoring' me....she's quite mad, of course....

Oh and Jerry my luggage made it this time! (when you don't need it, it arrives perfectly safe)

Hey Alan...

Glad you made it home safely....  I'm sure Fang was "unhappy" with you ::) but she'll come around.  The little fur balls have a way of getting under your skin, don't they?  Sure was great meeting you ...You're such
a sweetheart.  Get some rest and don't let that little ball of fur camp out on your face.  I sure miss MS PEEPERS. :'(  but I don't miss the hairballs :P

I sure didn't enjoy getting up at 7:30 and coming to work today!   When I woke up and turned on the TV, I thought maybe I was still drunk, because the Rockettes were on the Today Show, doing their Christmas routine.....it's AUGUST for heaven's sake!

Fang really did miss me, she cuddled up with me last night and this morning, something she rarely does.   I'll give her the little gift I got her if I ever get around to unpacking my bags....
