I'm positive I'm happy to be here
« on: July 12, 2007, 07:51:21 pm »
Hey, ladies.

I'm really happy to be here. I posted an intro on the "I just tested poz" forum, although more accurately, I just tested poz for the HIV I've had for three and a half years or so. I want to say something specific to being in this situation, and being a woman: being a woman's got its challenges any day of the week. To be HIV+ and female is more challenging still... and for me, being in my very early 20s, and poz, was quite a shock. I'm happy I've found you here, though. There's nothing I'd like better than to get to know some of you (heck, all of you!) pretty well.

I'm constantly tired and thanks to a new job, also constantly busy, but I've found a few things help a LOT.... sleep, friends, family, faith, fun and cuddly cats, as well as good books and the odd cup of tea. I don't know about you, but the above really help me out when I'm stressed and needing some down time. (My VL needs some down time, too! Heh. Bad joke, eh.)

Anyways.... a warm hello to you ladies. Right now, I'm not terrified. I was when I found out I was HIV+, and that I'd had it for some time, and that my CD4 wasn't very good.... but now that I've gotten a chance to think, I've found that being open and being able to talk and being able to pray and laugh and question and everything are just great... and I hope I can do all the above here.

Be back later. =)

Hi Angel;

Am so happy to have you on board, am happier still that you have found peace and are able to laugh, and pray.  I have found that laughter and prayer are  the best medicines and since finding out 8/2/04 I have been open and honest, with little to no rejection, those who have shunned me their lost, those who accept me my treasures.

I hope that this community is as helpful to you as it has been to me...

lots of hugs and prayers

Hello CAA,

I had just turned 24 when I found out and its been 13 years.  I am new to the forums and I love these women so very much aready!  I am never lonely when I am here and I am getting more strength every day from these posts.  I am considering becoming more open about my status in order to weed out the truly bad people in my life, as they come along.  I am pretty much a loner now, dating some and NOT disclosing very often.  I don't really have any "best friends" anymore.  I have chosen to keep myself "safe" and I feel that I am letting life pass me by.  I am so thrilled that you are here reaching out, too!  These women here can really help lift your spirits, everyone has such a twisted sense of humor, and it can really help you to escape, laugh and get through any rough times!

So......WELCOME!

Cindy   :D

CallingAllAngels,

Welcome to the forums, girlfriend! I also like the name too. I agree with the others, keeping a good attitude always helps. That and a sense of humor is what keeps me going. I'm glad you realize that being poz is not the end of the world but it is an adjustment. The ladies here are wonderful and so are the gentlemen. Check out the other forums here, you will see. I hope to see more posts from you in the future.

Wow, thanks for all the responses, ladies! I'll definitely be posting around the forums here. I can tell there are really friendly folks around these parts. Awesome! It can really help, finding community and people to toss ideas out to, and gab with.

I was at a wrestling show last night, and I was speaking to a female wrestler who donates 85% of her wrestling proceeds to our local AIDS charity. I have yet one more woman I can say I look up to, in the world. Yay. That made me happy. Just wanted to share that, for some reason... :)

Now did you say wrestling? The Queen is a big wrestling fan. Is this female in the WWE or some off brand? Either way I think it's great that she donates her money like that. Women have come a long way in wrestling. Now they are not seen as just TnA. Some of my faves were Trish Stratus, Chyna, Sensational Sherry(who died just recently), and of course, The Fabulous Moolah. At the moment I can't say I really have a favorite but does like Micki James, Victoria, and Melina. These are women in the WWE...I am a bit disappointed with the TNA(total non-stop action) wrestling because the females on there is mainly for show, only 2 wrestles but not that often, which is Gail Kim and  Jacqueline Moore both who use to be on WWE. I think Vince McMahon got rid of Gail Kim because there really wasn't a female who could touch her because she is so good with submission moves. I could go on for hours....

Actually, ironically enough, a lot of the wrestlers that were at the show, a few of the women included, are with TNA. I agree that most of the women are for show, unfortunately... and that bothers me. But not all of them are. Jaime D rocks, for instance. She's my favourite, she's got guts, and the one I was speaking with.

I am not familiar with any female on TNA called Jamie D.....Is she one of the females that actually wrestle?

Here ya go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaime_Dauncey  That's probably why you haven't heard of her. She's not strictly with TNA, I guess. I'm really happy I got a picture with her the other night.... and it's funny because she's pointing at me, but it looks like she's poking my chest.  :D
