Bad news today

I had an unusual bad reaction to med's. HIV mixed with Heart meds.  I could hardly move this morning for an hour and just felt like S**T. After lunch it got only worse with having to go to the men's room in a hurry.  I looked down and found blood in my urine. Called the Doctor and Drove 30 miles to his office.  I live in East Mesa, He's in North Phoenix.

I gave a sample at the office and it was all blood. He's taking me off Plavex and gave me a 5 day supply of a sample drug in case of infection.  If I don't have an infection then I'll have to have a CT Scan to see if there are tumors in my bladder or kidney's.

Bad thing is that I was to do AID's walk this Sunday as a volunteer. I was looking forward to it but as Phoenix/Mesa has been 100+ heat, he thought I shouldn't do it, just stay home and relax.

I think a lot is the Plavex.  I hope that's it.  Another guy at work found out he had a tumor on his left kidney after finding blood in his urine.

I usually have high blood pressure but it was normal today at the Doctor's office.  The biggest problem they keep at me with is that I'm a smoker.  I should have died years ago from so many other things, let alone AID's.

Sorry I won't be there this Sunday.

Hope you are on the mend soon -- I had to sit out an AIDSwalk once because of a health flare up that week so I just turned in the money I'd collected and told everyone I walked

Wow, sorry to hear about that problem.  My sister gets blood in her urine occasionally, but it's from kidney stones.  I hope things clear up for you, real soon!

Sorry for this unhappy turn of events. I hate it when we, meaning us and the doctors, have to guess about what is going on.

I hope this is resolved for you quickly.

Me too Aztecan. They put the most probable cause out there and usually smoking.  I guess that, even though I know the guys at Aunt Rita's are busy, I never got an acknowledgment of my email to them about not being there. My vanity, I guess. They have a long term survivor 11 years younger and I'm horse shit!

You guys are great! I went to my teeth cleaning today.  Counts were worse because of the bleeding, of course. They understood. Bleeding stopped immediately Friday night when I stopped Plavix and started the new med for five days.

I got caught into today's Thunder Storm's, it was hell getting home! We're having off and on Storms tonight. This is the weirdest transition from Summer to Winter we've had.

I just hope I can get through winter in the desert and see all my friends and those I haven't met next year. Jan, I'll give you an Arizona flag to wear, if you will.

Further bad news. Last Wednesday we had a real cold snap in Phoenix/Mesa Valley.  I was not prepared.  Thursday I got my Flu shot. Friday afternoon I thought I was just reacting to meds but it was different.  I fell asleep on the couch to wake up later with a fever.  I spent Saturday not doing well and finally got showered around noon.  At 4:00 Pm I knew I needed to go to the hospital.  I drove myself to emergency (The ambulance cost $900 last year).

Four hours later I was discharged with Bronchitis with prescriptions for antibiotics and steroids. It's Tuesday, 11/16 and I think I can go back to work tomorrow. I didn't contact my Doctor because I could not handle driving to n. 3rd in Phoenix from East Mesa.

I hope I can get past the holidays without a glitch.

Larry  when it rains it seem to pour buckets of bad stuff for you   so sorry to hear of the awful combo of events.....   hope the antibiotics work and keep that stuff down..... dont rush work   just make it worse

I saw my Doctor Monday, it took over 2 hours so he wrote me an excuse.  I have a Gay Doctor.  He isn't on me about smoking (much).  He told me he smoked by the end of his internship and knew how difficult it is to get off the habit.

He put me back on antibiotics and steroids for another week.  There goes Thanks Giving but I cot turkey breast cutlets, string beans and potatoes.  Sour dough Bread and cranberry dressing for sandwiches.  Today I got a Lamb Shoulder chop to have another good meal.  Celery and pimento spread, got hooked on that when I was younger but also got Green Olives with Pimento to put on a tooth pick to marinade in Gin and Tonic.

I'm making my holiday and will enjoy Bleu and Kitty. I wish there was a way of posting their pictures but I have a flickr account with them on it that are public under arizlarry.  You may be shocked at my contacts though. The best ones are not afraid of posting their podies and are very artistic, enjoying nature.

Could we do Burning Man in the future? How would that be for a gathering?

Sorry I was out of it on my last posting.  Burning Man would be preferable to SEATTLE. Even though I did have dinner with Bill Gates.  I'll tell you later if I make it.

Got through Thanksgiving, had the Lamb but didn't do Turkey on thanksgiving. I was not hungry until this week.

Still dealing with things at work also. Mostly my manager demanding things get done. She's a Napoleonic short bull dike. A straight friend saw her picture and immediately termed her a COW! Sorry, I had to put that in here. Her message is that Work comes First.  So much for balance.

I got tickets for up coming events but I usually cant get into Phoenix for them.  I just figure there is room for one more and I've donated.  It's a lot for me to get dressed up and get into Phoenix with is 20-30 miles to the event.
