Well, Most of Me is Home....
« on: August 11, 2009, 03:37:05 pm »
I'm back home, but apparently my luggage decided to extend the vacation and is currently touring the West Coast, last spotted in Sacramento. That Bitch. United assures me it will find it's way to my doorstep by tomorrow morning, we'll see.

I want to thank each and every one of you for giving me memories that will last a lifetime. I was amazed at the kindness and love that surrounded me every minute of the trip. Although to me this was much more than a "trip", it was an experience. I was amazed that 20 people from all walks of life can gather together and mesh so well, I felt at home from the moment I walked up to the group in front of The Chandler on Thursday even though I had not met any of you previously. The love was palpable.

Nick, thank you for always making sure I was enjoying myself, you are definately one of the nicest people I have ever met.

Gary, the memorial was absolutely amazing and I want you to know that one thing I took away from it is the poignant fact that while it can be upsetting to mourn those who are close to us that we have lost we must always remember that they would want us to live and celebrate the life we have.

And who can forget the lovely singing by Mini!!!

Curtis, my impromptu tour guide, thanks for dragging me to Harvard, lunch with you, Jodi and Mjmel at Harvard square was unforgettable! and of course the lunch at the Wharf in Salem with you and Ernie was just as fun!

RAB, Odyssey, Dennis(cat herder), The Davids, Robert, Sheri, meena, Ms Bonnie, AnnieBC, Creighton, Santi, LongIslander, Aztecan, Killfoile, snow... I have special memories of each of you!

I love you all!

Will,

Here's hoping "the rest of you" arrives tomorrow!  Still in Boston, but the rest of us leave in the morning.  It was a wonderful week and it was truly nice to meet new people, particularly you.  Now, as I said, we have faces to go with screennames...it makes a big difference.

Thanks for your kind words about the memorial service.  It was a privilege for me to lead it.

Hey Will:

Well hopefully your luggage should be there in a few hours.

What can I say?  You were a spark of pure enjoyment for everyone.  Laughing, smiling, joking, and honest emotions, everything about you was just wonderful.

I hope you know you've made a whole group of new friends for a very long time.

Thanks buddy for giving us all so much.

Glad you made it home even if your luggage didn't. Honestly, I am suprised that doesn't happen more often. It was nice to meet you!

Take care,

You were such a fantastic roommate, and oh so drool worthy (lol). I'm really glad we had fun watching CSI together and that we got along so well. Hope your luggage gets to you soon, but I'm glad YOU got home safely! As a side note, I found myself talking with a slight accent like yours for awhile after I got home :D. Take care my new friend! :D

Willy, what a sweetie you are!  I never saw you without a smile on your face.  You were such fun - and a real cutie.  Um, a CSI marathon and I wasn't invited?  I even wore my infamous dark chocolate body cream just for you ;D

Bummer about the suitcases - that's why I don't check luggage.  Hopefully your meds were safely on the plane with you.

Can't wait to see you next year!!

Mum (LOL about "sanitizing" names - I see you changed wee one's, too :P)

hi willy lump lump

I had a long haul also.  I left Tuesday afternoon and flew to ATL.  They had oversold the flight from ATL to SAC and asked for volunteers.  I raised my hand and for my efforts got a $600 credit on Delta, 2 food vouchers and a night at the local Hyatt.  Got home Wed. afternoon after 4p.  (That credit should cover next year's airfare.).

It was so good to meet you. LIke the song says,  "wild thing....you make my heart sing,,,,you make everything groovy...."

Maybe next year we can have a pajama party in your room....

Willy,

Hope that you luggage has finally caught up with you.
You so clearly had such fun in Boston -- I can't remember how many times you raced downstairs in your pajamas just to sit outside with us -- plus that smile of yours is infectious.
I hope we meet again next year -- whereever AMG may be.

Hugs,
Mike

Robert,

You are a gem! And I just love your donkey...eeeehawwww! Yes, my luggage finally did make it back home. But the reason it got all screwed up was because I too volunteered to give up my seat and since the next flight wasnt until the next morning they put me up in a SWEET room at the Hilton Dulles in DC, I also bagged a free round trip on United and a meal voucher!!! YAY me!

Minismom,

I have the BEST picture of you standing on the platform in the subway station, It would make an excellent "wanted poster" for the Boston PD (wanted for jumping turnstiles) LOL! Hillarious! I'm still cracking up over the bruises you received during your jump.

Good Times :)
