Risk or Anxiety?

On April 14th i visited a female CSW in which we had unprotected oral (both ways) and protected vaginal.

I inspected the condom to make sure it didnt fail, it didnt seem like it had ripped and did the water test after, in which it started filling like a balloon.

I would assume if a condom fails, its pretty apparent? (dont believe i had had one break on me)

Of course after this visit I started to stress out and question the incident. I even talked to her and asked if she had any diseases or had been tested, which she told me she was disease free and gets tested often.

On 4/24 (10 days later) I started developing a sore throat, no fever that has persisted through today (14 days later) and had gotten a little bit worse.

I visited my doctor who said it could be something viral, test for strep is negative.

I am in a committed relationship, was there a risk for HIV or is my stress and anxiety just in overdrive?

Protected vaginal sex is not a risk for HIV infection and, yes, if a condom fails it is abundantly clear that it has failed.

Unprotected oral sex of the type you describe, would not be a HIV-infection threat for you, but could expose you to other STD's/STI's.

Your symptoms are not HIV-related, so continue to seek medical attention, if the symptoms persist and bother you.

Yes, you stress and anxiety are in overdrive, if you continue to be concerned about contracting the HIV because of the incident you have described.

Thank You for your reply....so the sore throat thing......just a coincidence then? I did just quit smoking about 4-5 days ago, so maybe that and the anxiety is sparking all the concern

Whatever the cause of your sore throat, it is not HIV-related.

So no issue with unprotected oral? Im now running a fever and feel really drained

If your symptoms are bothering you, then, by all means seek medical attention for proper diagnosis and treatment.
