Walking toward A Cure -- For Leukemia/Lymphoma

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to update the title.  I realized that this was a bit misleading earlier.  Sorry -- It was late and I was tired...  At any rate, please do consider helping out if you can!!  Even if you just log on and give me some emotional support/encouragement!


As some of you might know, I was diagnosed with HIV in August 2006. Like all of you I've been struggling to keep it together and look at the bigger picture...the world outside of myself.  As a way to get myself back together, I've decided to finish something I started in 2003.  When my aunt died of cancer, I thought that I wanted to do something to help find a cure.  A friend had done the team in training bike ride and told me about it.  I hate riding bikes, but I figured I could do one of the walks.  I got somewhat derailed when I dislocated my shoulder and put it on the back burner.  After my diagnosis in August, it occurred to me that I could no longer put things like this on the back burner and get to it 'one day'. 

So I've made it my goal for 2007!  I am raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a participant in their Team In Training program.  I will be participating in the Mayor's Midnight Sun 1/2 Marathon in Anchorage Alaska on June 23, 2007. 

Each donation helps accelerate cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma and brings hope to the patients and families who are on the front lines of the battle against these diseases.  75 CENTS OF EACH DOLLAR DONATED goes toward fighting this battle.

In addition to training for the event, I have pledged to raise $4,600.00.  I'm asking that you help me help others by making a donation to the cause.  I realize that a lot of us are not in the position to make large donations, but anything you can do will be a great help.
