Hi Everyone,

Recently Hunter, our Health Information Officer at the Center for HIV Prevention and Care has become disabled from HIV and heart surgery.  He has developed a monthly radio show on health issues.  Lavender Health Watch/Outbeat Salon KRCB is broadcasting on 91.1 FM and 90.9 FM on the 4th Sunday of each month from 8:00-9:00 PM.  KRCB Radio 91 is also streaming and podcast online at www.krcb.org.

Starting with the new year, Lavender Health Watch's shows will be approached from a holistic point of view.  This means shows will be reflective from the Mind, Body and Spirit components of good health.

The following is a tenative schedule of programs slated:

January- Exercise and weight training for a Healthier Life/Lifestyle.

February- Cardiovascular concerns, Lipid profile education.

March- Cancer- Prostate, Breast and Anal.

April- Crystal Meth (How to recognize symptoms, effects on your health, and resources available.

May- GLBTQIP Youth health issues (Positive Images and connections, resources.

June- Spirituality, How it can improve your health and attitude.

July- Psych/Social Issues, resources and their benefits for a heathier and happy life.

August- Doctor/Patient relationships, other provider relationships and Advocacy (Their Benefits).

September- Healthy Environments (in the workplace as well), Air, Water, Polution, Noise, etc.

October- Medical Directives, Power of Attorney for Healthcare, code status.

November- Music, How it can affect your emotiojns, your health.

These are subject to change in case of presenting health issues that are timely.  Also a month is reserved for current information on HIV, Hepititus and other STD's.

Hey Michael...

It is GOOD to hear from you. With a holistic point-of-view, I will be definitely tuning in to the show. There can, may, or will be some GOOD information that is shared on the show. Thanks for sharing this with the group.

Hunter is a long term survivor and a really great individual.  KRCB is Public Radio and he has no budget.  Some support from far away places as we Forum members are, would make him very happy.  Have the best day
