EXTREME ANXIETY OVER POSSIBLE HIV INFECTION
« on: July 21, 2017, 09:02:23 am »
Hello, and thanks for being here.

two months ago (55days) i had protected anal sex with a CSW. At that time i had a herpes sore at my penis which was covered by the condom. The condom didn't break
Since the moment i  left i started been extremely anxious. I started thinking that might the sore got exposed cause it was in the middle of the penis and i got infected.
On the 3d day i started feeling my throat weird. On the 5th day i developed low grade fever (37) which came and go for around 7 days.
The doctor said it was a light faryngitis.
On the 6th day i took PCR HIV-1 and a ab/ag hiv-1,2 ECLIA test which both came negative.
On the 15th day i took another PCR-1 HIV-1 test ehich came negative
On the 32nd day i took a ag/ab HIV1,2 EIA test which came negative.
On the 50 day i had a severe genital herpes outbreak (from the extreme anxiety according to the doctor)
which caused a sweeling in my groin area which lasted for 1 day.
On the 51 day i took another PCR HIV-1 test and ag/ab HIV1,2 test which both came negative.
On the 53d day i took a ag/ab HIV 1,2  ECLIA test (from another laboratory) which also came negative.

Most of that time (55 days) i feel my throat weird. Some times it feels normal.
The doctor (HIV specialist) says that my risk was low and i should stop testing and that results are conclusive at 53 days. According to her i should get back in my normal life.
I forgot to mention that i'm in a stable relationship and regrets are allover me all that time as well as the fear that i may infect her if i get back in normal life.

Are my tests conclusive?  What are the chances all that symptoms developed just by anxiety?

Thanks again for your time!

Hi, your results are conclusive, protected intercourse is NOT risk for HIV.
Just so you know in case you have put yourself at risk, guidelines are to test at 6 weeks and again at 13 to confirm your results.

Now you can put this behind you and take care of your herpes.

Thanks wade for the immediate answer.
The herpes sore at that time combined with the mild fever that followed and the weird throat that i keep having don't let me ease. Can we blame anxiety for the funny throat?
Is it true that if these where hiv symptoms the hiv test would have turn positive anyway?

Thanks

Protected intercourse was not risk for HIV herpes or not.
So no your symptoms have nothing to do with HIV , see your doctor and find out what's making you sick.

Right now I have a cold and a sore throat and sound like the Godfather when I talk.
Does it have anything to do with HIV...NO I'm just sick.

Believe me it's safe to move on..

I see you lurking there... you had no risk from this encounter, so please don't post about it again.
