Literature,philosophy and sex....
« on: March 21, 2007, 09:58:16 pm »
Thought that would work ;D
Seriously, what does everyone do to relax? As stress is one of the worst things to affect your health, how do you wind down?
I read at least a book every couple of days, eat too much chocolate and treat myself far too often on ebay (then get stressed coz can't afford it). tried shiatsu and reiki, any more ideas?
I know i'm going to enjoy the party in the afterlife, but do you all mind that I'm going to be VERY late!!!

I mountain bike, read (a lot), cook, work out.
I also put headphones on and listen to music just because.
I could stare at an atlas for hours.

But mostly I have trouble getting outside my head.  Some people can just veg.  I don't do that.

Yoga is excellent. I practiced yoga for several years in between stints at the gym. Weights get boring to me, but the poses and concentration were incredible.

Now that I'm back in the gym and not doing yoga, I've noticed that I pay more attention to the resistence and release than i ever did before, thanks to the yoga.

You might also try writing. It's incredibly therapeutic to me.

yoga every morning
walk at least three miles every day
exercise bike every other day
10 min of meditation every morning
One bucket of balls on the driving range at least 4 days a week. This is the best stress reliever for me.
I read everyday but it does nothing for stress.

I've tried writing, then I read these amazing novels, and some of the more articulate post here, and feel I've lost my words

I usually play my ps2 when I'm stressed as I have been as of late. And smoke more of the green. I need to meditate, honestly, my thoughts are really all over the place.
