confused

well i feel stupid, last night i had sex with another male, i rarely do this but it was in the moment the urge to just do it, i always use protection, i was the top and he bottomed. i used a condom, but it ripped. i dont kno how long i went at it with it being ripped, when i noticed i removed it and went into the bathroom and washed my penis with water and soap. i am uncircumcised, and ive read the its a high risk to get infected then circumcised males. i dont know if i did right or wrong by washing it rite away. he said he was clean but i really dont trust that. now i just cant stop thinking about it. on ur forum ive read i have to wait 13 weeks before i can get an accurate test result. so havin an test rite now or with in days would be useless? we didnt go at it very long but still the condom did tear during anal sex, and i cant stop thinking about it, its only been 12 hours since the incident. i never came nor did he, so there was no semen involved. after i washed up we tried to finish with a new condom but i couldnt get it out of my head n just stopped. what should i do? just wait the 13 weeks or is it useless and waste to go earlier? should i stop having any kind of sex in till i get my test results? like i said i rarely do this but the occasional hand job and blow job comes up.

First off, you need to know that it is extremely insulting to those of us who are hiv positive when you refer to a person's hiv status as being clean. It implies that poz people are dirty. I certainly am not - I shower every day.

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is more difficult to transmit from the receptive partner to the insertive partner. You were protected up until the condom broke and that is in your favour as well.

Also, I've yet to see the insertive partner end up positive over a one-off condom break and I do not expect you to be the first.

Lower risk does not mean no risk, however, and you do need to test.

The earliest you should test is at six weeks. The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by this time, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days. A six week negative is highly unlikely to change, but must be confirmed at the three month point.

Keep yourself productively busy until it is the appropriate time to test. I fully expect you to come out of this ok.

Please read through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use them correctly. A correctly used condom rarely breaks. Two of the leading causes of condom breakage are not making sure there is no air in the tip and not using enough lube.

thanks for the reply ann, and i am sorry if i offended any one wiyj my comment bout their status. im just confused and dont kno what to do. ill wait it out and get tested. hopefully all comes alright. i will take a look at the proper way of using a condom.
