Hello, my name is Mini.  I am 13 years old and in the 8th grade. I have 5 siblings and 2 dogs.  I live in West Virginia on a mountain in the woods.  There are lots of things that I like to do: playing outside, walking my dogs, reading, drawing, going to the doctor, watching TV, playing and talking with my friends, going to dance class, wearing mix match socks, and writing stories and poems. I hope to become a zoologist or a zoo keeper. In school I like my Mindbenders, science, and history.  I can't stand math, grammar, or Building Thinking Skills. 

I LOVE to eat!  Some of my favorite foods are pizza, hamburgers, mac-n-cheese, bacon (from a pig NOT a turkey!), cake, brownies, and ice cream.  I'm supposed to eat only sugar-free because I have diabetes, but sometimes I cheat.  My doctor said not to eat bacon and hamburgers because I have high cholesterol from my meds, but I cheat on those all the time.  Well, the hamburgers, not the bacon.  The bacon only sometimes.

Besides HIV and diabetes, I have dystonia and neuropathy and dyslexia and some other stuff I can't remember right now.  Sometimes my legs stop working and I fall, but that depends if I'm standing up or not.

I'm on 2 meds right now called Epzicom and Kaletra.

Later on,  maybe I can share my poems and my pictures.  Tell me a little bit about yourselves and what you like to do.  It would be nice to meet some of the new people here.

Do you remember me and Poppy, my cat?  I sent you a picture of Poppy quite a while ago, and have a picture of you and your siblings that your mom sent me a long time ago.  I still have it in my wallet!

I have diabetes and neuropathy also, and they can be difficult to live with.  But I cheat also, with sweets sometimes, and chips, burgers and stuff like that, a lot! It's hard not to. 

I'm sure you will achieve whatever it is you want to achieve.  You are one of the bravest young ladies I know and I'm so glad you're a member now!  Hope to interact with you more!

Hi Mini . I'm Jeff and I'm very excited you have decided to join us . We have never met but I have hard many wonderful things about you . I have diabetes and neuropathy too and do the best I can living with it . I also cheat sometime , last night I had a milk shake from McDonald's but I did only have a small one .

One of the many reasons I'm glad you are here with is because you are so brave and you will inspire us all to be the best we can be , just like you do every day . Thanks again for joining our group .

I've heard so much about you, and now I am glad to get to say hello.  You and I have many things in common.  I like all those foods and I like them too much..lol.  I do not like math either.  It was my worst subject.  Stay with it, though.  I always wondered when I would ever use it.  But, knowing how to determine whether you are getting a bad deal on a car is good to know.  You will be driving in a few years.  When people start talking fractions, my mind just goes fuzzy.  Stick with it.  You really do use more than ya think you will. 

I have 2 dogs, as well.  I know everyone would love to see your dogs and your poems.  I see you also want to work with animals.  I always say anyone who loves animals is the best kind of person.  Animals need someone looking out for them.

Your first post here made me laugh. I especially liked your "real" bacon comment. Ha! I wear mix and match socks too sometimes but it's usually by accident. I'm sure you must be surrounded by beauty where you live. I grew up in cold *shiver* Minnesota but live in Connecticut now and have one dog. He is diabetic too but he doesn't let him slow him down too much.

I'm looking forward to reading your posts and hopefully one day we will meet.

Hello Mini!

I never worked in a zoo; but my boy friend and I used to own a pet store up in Ohio. Some days it was like working in tiny zoo with tarantulas, coatimundis (a kind of South American raccoon), hamsters, parrots, and all sorts of fish. Even after we closed up our pet store, our house was still sort of a like a zoo because we had 1 parrot, 1 cockatiel, 7 (yes SEVEN) cocker spaniels, and 1 cat. Come to think of it even now, when it's been years later and I'm living back at my Mom's house it's still like a zoo because living there is my Mom and me, my 2 dogs, and Mom's 4 dogs!

Your mom has done a great job telling us about you and keeping us up to date on what's been going on with you for a long time. I have enjoyed "talking" (well, writing on the internet) with your Mom about what books she, I and my Mom have all read. Come to find out, we have all read a lot of the some books.

Betty - I remember the picture you sent of Poppy in your slipper that you sent me.  Good job on your cheating - you gotta be free sometime (just not too free).

Mr. Jeff - Congrats on your cheating too, but next time do it up right and go for a LARGE. Thank you for inviting me to the site of the web.

Mr. Ted - I don't like fractions, either, so sometimes I use a fraction calculator.  The only time I don't use it is when there's no fractions.  Then, I only use a regular one.
What kinds of dogs do you have and what are their names?  Our dogs are named Ava and Henry.  They are Chinese Cresteds.  They can be overly happy, lazy, and mean when you try to take away Henry's treat and Ava gets angry if you mess up her naps.

Mr. Mitch - Oliver is very cute.  Our woods very nice. There are lots of places to sit and think, like rocks.  We have one rock that is a hotel for bugs.  Our dogs' full names are Ava Camille Rose and Henry Melchizadec Valentino Quasimoto VIII.

Willy - I bet you will be famous one day, but so will I.  So, if you want me to send you my autograph, I will then we'll see whose is worth more faster.

Mr. Michael - I would love to see some of your animals sometime.  They seem very interesting.  I've read all about some of them.  Your house does sound like a zoo - all you need are big cats and marine animals and there you go.

My friend's mom is a vet and I got to watch her do surgery on a cat.  She took like a blue napkin and put it around the cat and told us not to touch it.  Then she just cut it open. She was fixing it so it wouldn't have babies. Then she stitched it up.  After, she put some things around the cat's paws.  When the cat was asleep, her tongue was hanging out with one eye closed and one eye opened.  It looked insane!

 I like to read fairytale books, books about animal facts, interesting books like science and stuff, and Diary of a Whimpy Kid and Dork Diaries.

Good morning Mini!  I am up super early, it's only 3:30 am here.  I have insomnia, meaning I have weird waking hours, and sometimes do things when I am asleep that I don't remember, but I'm not taking sleeping pills, which can cause that problem.  Like last night, I woke up in the chair in the kitchen and have no idea how I got there, haha!

Wow, you got to watch surgery on a cat?!  That sounds so cool.  And you remembered Poppy was in my slipper, see I didn't even remember that.  You had a really great memory!

That's great you like science, that's important in the job world.  Do you do any experiments? 

Well, I have to look at other things.  I like to read newspapers online in the morning to keep up with the news.  I hope to hear more from you!

Hello Mini ,

We have not met before co I must introduce myself, tell you a bit about my self and lastly point you in the direction off some photograghs that I have taken.

I am English , live in London near the Thames and 2 miles from Big Ben and the House,s Of Parliment . Because I have a very generous brother in the spring and Summer I live on a small Island off 670 people called Westray , it is part off the Orkney,s and they are off the North Coast off Scotland. I wanted to live there all the time put I can not because off health .

A very quick line on health  since 1999 I have had lots off things to get better from
but that has left a very young old man . Thats it 21 words to describe 14 years my record.

My next door neighbour in Orkney used to teach people to be Veternary Nurse.s .She has pigs,sheep ,ducks,chicken,turkeys, one very old cow , two human Males, and 4 Cats to look after. She is also a friend.

Since I can remember  I have been a dog person. I live with Mia , or when I am cross with her MISS MIASOFIA , she is a Black and Tan Jack Russel , very fast and fiesty , and as in dog terms she is a teenager at the moment , unpredictable . At the moment in London we have lots off fireworks going off due to Guy Faulks night Mia is learning to be brave about the sudden bangs and wizzes , I think she dislikes the wizzes the most,

It's fantastic that you are finally able to join us here. I can't believe you're old enough already! It seems like only last week that you were a little kid.

I still have the valentine you sent me - I keep it on my desk.

I don't have a dog any more, but I do have three boy cats. They are: Mr. Sylvester Pester Polyester (his friends call him Vester); Mr. Freddie Cougar (aka Fred or Fat Fred - he's huge!!!); and Mr. Eggs Benedict (he was born on Easter Sunday two years ago) but he's also called Monster or Stewie. He mainly answers to Stewie these days. I'll tell you why if you want to know.

My most dear Mini,

Miss P (known to you as David) has a warm heart knowing that your parents have decided it's time for you to join us here on your own, a signal of your new maturity growing into a beautiful young woman, full of promise,developing emotions, and love of life.

I am not sure if you will fully remember, but we met five years ago when you went with your mother to the our AMG gathering in Mexico City, where we slowly climbed to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan together, and enjoyed our accomplishment by basking in the warm glows of the sun. That was a special trip for me and I hope for you, full of delicious tacos and wonderful all-embracing company.

While our age difference is around 35 years, which puts me similar to your parents, our journey through our medications and the damage done to our bodies is similar: the odd pains that go undiagnosed fully, or only partially so, the neuropathy that comes and goes never sure if that's what it is or something wholly new surfacing on the horizon, and the accompanying anxiety of such situation. The many, many trips to so many different doctors that, at time, it's indeed hard to keep everything straight in our minds. And the worry that yet something else will suddenly pop up entailing yet more doctors and more tests.

But always know that your parents love you so much, more than you can ever imagine. You are a very, very special girl. Just a couple of years ago I had dinner with your parents when they were traveling through the city I live in, further east of you called Philadelphia. Perhaps one day soon they will come through here again and you will be with them, and I can show you things here that you will surely enjoy, and of course it would warm my heart to see you again as a much older girl. We have a nice zoo here, the oldest one in the United States, and what fun that would be for you to go to with me. And oh, so much good food that you can try and find what you like, seeing as how you say there's much that you enjoy eating even if at times you need to keep your intake of such foods to a minimum for your health reason. We can find something for you to "cheat" with.

Anyway, I'm so happy now to read your own words and I hope that you will continue to join us here. Your own words will bring many of us joy and happiness, as they will do the same for you.

One moment, need to check on Henry...

Today in school, our history lesson was very interesting. I think it was about someone named Dias and da Gama.  My grammar was a little hard but my Building Thinking Skills and math were easy.  Spelling is always easy.  Maybe I'll put some of my Building Thinking Skills on here and see if you can figure them out.  I'll copy your answers on my paper and then tell you if they're right or not.

Last night it snowed but not very hard. We only got 2 inches or so.  Now the sun's out and it'll turn to mud.

Tonight I'm going to dance class.  I'm getting ready for our concert which is in December.  Our dances are easy and hard.  One of my sisters and one of my brothers is in my class.  The name of our song is "Kumi Ori".  It's fast and pretty fierce (mom told me you like that word David).

Mom said I need to keep things short so...

Ms. Betty - at least you wake up every morning with same question: "How'd I end up here?"  Did you go to bed hungry last night?  Maybe that's why you woke up in the kitchen.  Just make sure you don't need anything before you go to bed or you might wake up in the car!

Thayer - In England, there are lots of pretty things to see: castles, the Lock Ness Monster, Buckingham palace, and the Thames River would be nice to go see if it's clean.  Did you know that you were diagnosed one year before me?

Ms. Ann from Man - All you cats have long, funny names.  Our dog Henry has a long name, but I don't think it's very funny.  Sounds more like what a prince would be named.  Which cat is that on the photo?  Why is Stewie called Stewie?  Does he like to eat stew?

Mr. David P. - That was a very nice letter you wrote. I remember some nuns beside us on the way up. Were you one of them? My mom wouldn't go to the tippy top of the pyramid because it was loose rocks and she was scared we'd fall off.  But we made it to the part that was just under the tippy top, got out the umberella, and ate Pringles.  I remember falling and scraping my knee.  My mom put cootie killer on it and it burned! I still have the dress that Jan bought me.  Mike thought we were lost but how could we be since there was one way to in and one way out.  I guess we could've died of heat stroke, but then he would have known and found us in the ambulance.

I don't really worry about tests much, they're not a big deal.  My neurologist asked why I don't worry.  I told her why should I worry?  Sooner or later it's gonna be over and really there's nothing to worry about.  Later in the future people may remember it, but they're not going to worry about it.  Today may be bad, but it will end and tomorrow will come and it will be better even if tomorrow takes more than just tomorrow.

Mr. Gary - I don't remember singing in Boston.  It's funny how everybody remembers it except the person who did it.  I think I remember it, maybe.  I told mom hi. Next year you need to plan the meeting in Philidelphia so we can go. 

OK, what's 302 - 16? 286.  So, hey, you 286 people, it would be really nice to hear from you soon.

Now I'm getting off to go draw or do my computer time which is really not fair since we only get 30 minutes of computer a day but talking to you doesn't count as my computer time.

Dear Mini,

My name is Joe and we met in Boston.  I was the guy in the kilt (skirt) and we sat in a booth and sucked the helium out of the balloons and talked funny.  I remember your singing and it was beautiful, just like you.  I live in Montreal, Canada and it is very cold here and I do not really like the cold.  I have two cats, a HUGE black one named Ramses and a grey/white one called Oscar.  I also have a dog, called Niko and his favorite thing to do is to grab a cat by the head and drag them around the loft.  The cats love it and watching them play together is very funny.

I love to read and I enjoy all types of music.  I also love anything on wheels.  I used to have motorcycles and I still have roller-blades and a bike, which is fun, because Montreal has a lot of bike paths, where no cars are permitted.  I also enjoy helping people like us, to adjust to having HIV and finding a way to have a happy life, just like you have.

I can't believe I almost missed this post, it's so wonderful to see your name here at long last, I'm so used to seeing the name "Minismum" that I didn't realize it was  you posting.

I can't believe you are a beautiful teenager now, every now and then I look back at the lovely photo's I have of you, my favourite's are when we were dancing in Mexico City, when you were lighting the candle of us and the one taken at the lovely little waterfall we were all at. 

BTW I hope you don't mind but I rescued a beautiful Calico at from the shelter were I volunteer, her name is Cora and she took a great liking to the Teddy you made me,do you remember it?, so I hope it's OK that she sleeps with it now instead of me. 

It is so lovely to hear from again, I hope you will give us regular up dates about you and the family, please give a big hug to mum and dad for me.

Mr. Joe - your dog, Nicko is very cute.  My dad's name is Oscar, like you're cat.  I was just wondering how your small little dog can carry a HUGE cat in his mouth?  It doesn't seem possible.  It could happen, I guess.  Thank you for the nice words you wrote.  Is it usually cold in Canada?  Do people really say "eh" at the end of every sentence?  Do you have any pictures of Montreal?

Jan - It's perfectly fine that your cat is sleeping with the teddy bear we sent / gave you because I don't remember.  We found out what Aroha means.  It means Love.  I do remember dancing with you in Mexico and being near a waterfall and lighting a candle.  I also remember the scavenger hunt we did and we went to a graveyard.  Some people were doing a play and others were talking about something I don't remember.  We saw Mother Goose's grave.  I got tired and sat down on it and mom yelled at me to get off.  I will do updates on things.

Sounds as if it's time for your mother to teach you typing techniques My mother was a typing teacher and I made her teach me to type when I was your age, and it's an extremely useful thing to know even if the world is practically void of old fashion typewriters -- I think they call them "keyboard skills" now for use with computers.

I like being out in nature too. I love being in my garden and try to create something special with trees, bushes, flowers, and yes, even rocks. I'm sure I have a few rock hotels for bugs too.

I agree with the others that you are an inspiration. I know you inspire me even though I have been living with HIV for over 30 years now. 31 to be exact. There is always something new to learn and I know many will learn from you.

Hello Mini ,

The Thames is reasonably clean for a Capitol city river , when I was much younger ,your age and up I used to swim in it regularly , out off London at a town called Henley - on - Thames . Comparred to 100 years ago its a crystal clear babbling brook because a 100 years ago it received every kind of waste there was and on hot days it STANK.

Do you believe there is a Loch Ness Monster ?

Do you know, I have a loveseat in my living room, and it belongs to Poppy, because she won't let anyone else sit there haha.  So, I put a big pillow on one end for her, and she right now is sleeping on the loveseat, with her body over one half, and her head buried in the pillow on the other half. 

I'm so happy you're posting here now.  I live in Indiana, so if you all ever come up this way, we will have to meet.

My name is Jess and we met in Boston, it seems like forever ago.

I enjoy reading your posts and I am so happy to hear you are doing well.

I have 4 children and 3 dogs.

My oldest boy is 15 and I have boy-girl-boy 10 yr olds.

We recently moved from the city to the country, where I have to keep my eye out for bobcats, coyote and bear, which I am not quite used to yet. Our big dog is Cassius, but we call him Cash for short, he is a pitbull. Next is JoJo, she is a terrier and she likes to slide between my back and the chair when I am on computer and last is Lucky, who just came to us in the last couple of months. I can't remember what kind of dog he is, shih-tzu maybe, but he is small and  has really soft white fur with some grayish black spots. Lucky is deaf and I am trying to teach him signs so he knows to follow or come. I usually just end up looking like a crazy air traffic controller because half the time I don't think he can see me either?  I used to like to take them for walks in the woods until both our neighbors had bears in their yard so now I just I drive my van out in the field and let them run.

Thayer - That was disgusting!  That was just plain gross what they did 100 years ago.  About the Lock Ness Monster, I've read stories about it, but I do not believe in it.  Bush Gardens, I went on the roller coaster ride.  Actually, I went on every roller coaster in Bush Gardens and they were fun.

Ms. Snow - My paw-paw has a bear and a wolf, too.  Except they aren't actually alive anymore.  The wolf is by the fireplace and the bear was turned into a carpet for a perfectly good reason.  He didn't shoot them, though.  I feel sorry about Lucky and there's probably some way to teach him how to listen, but not listen listen, but to know what you are telling him.

Well Mini, since you said you're having tacos tomorrow, I guess I will go with my original idea and have tacos also.  So, I went to the store and bought all the ingredients.  A friend of mine took me out to breakfast today, and I had biscuits and gravy.  They were good!

You like to ride bikes?  I have a stationary bike I ride while watching tv.  It's a recumbent bike, do you know what that is?  It means the seat and the pedals are on the same level, so it doesn't put pressure on the knees.  It's cool!  I need to ride it more often so I can lose some weight.

How is your mom?  Please tell her I said "hi."  I guess I better go now and check my blood sugar, it's about that time.  I hope you have a great weekend Ms. Mini!

It would be really cool if you could ride an actual bike while watching an actual TV.  It wouldn't be hard to do, you just need a mini TV hooked on to your handle bars.  It would be a little hard to focus, though.

Mom says hi and she's doing pretty good. 

I've never really ridden on one of those exercise bikes.  My mom has one, but she doesn't watch it while she's watching TV or any other time. 

I like biscuits and gravy, too.  My tacos were good.  I ate like 5 or 6 with just cheese and ketchup. 

I didn't do too much this weekend.  I drew a couple of pictures and caught up on that show Grimm on Amazon.  Sadly, that's it.  I need to rewrite me and my friend Eva's story because the notebook my sister gave me got all the papers ripped out and now I have to copy the work into another notebook.  Mom says I should just put the papers in a folder.  I guess that would make more sense and make less work.  Now I just need to find a folder in the classroom.

I used to be taller than my bigger brother, then he grew and he was bigger just a couple of weeks ago.  Now we just measured back to back and I'm taller than him again.  It may just be my hair is poofy and he's bald.

Glad to meet you. Sorry it took me a while to respond. I have just thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts and wanted to make sure that I could free up the time to compose a message letting you know how inspirational you are.

My name is Phil and I live in South Florida - the Miami area to be exact. I have lived down this way for about 15 years. Before moving here I lived in Northwestern Pennsylvania by Lake Erie. 

Erie was cold, dreary and the winters were horrible (sorry, but I hate driving in snow and absolutely hate being cold). Miami is very warm (okay, it is actually very hot most of the year). I would rather have the heat then the cold and enjoy being able to go outside with shorts on in January and February. I also don't have to shovel any snow here.

I work for a large college and never in a million years did I think that I would be working for a college, doing the job I am doing now (which is writing grants - grants fund all kinds of programs for our students), and also going to school for my MBA (Masters in Business Administration).

I have such a wide variety of interest. When I was a kid, I used to read through the encyclopedias that my mother and dad had from A to Z. That is how much I like learning things.

Anyway, thank you for continuing to post and for always finding a way to bring a smile to my face and to get me thinking in a different way about so many things.

Oh, I am also 47 years old - but I look much, much, much younger      

Oh, oh, oh....  Also, I haven't rode a bike in years; I love to roller skate, but haven't done that in years; I also enjoy karaoke - but I don't think others who have to listen to me do karaoke enjoy me doing it

I had a busy weekend with company here at my house . We had a birthday party for a friend with a big yellow cake with green and yellow sweet cream flowers on it , wish you were here for that !

We ate at an Italian restaurant , I didn't like what I ate but the other guys had lasagna and they told me it was the best ever .

I have never watched Grimm, because I always fall asleep before it comes on.  But I always want to watch it, it looks really interesting. 

The weekend went by pretty fast, it always does.  Then it's time to go to work again.  I work for an Aids service organization here in Northwest Indiana.  I'm a case manager.  I like my job a lot, I like the clients I have. 

Today I'm probably going to decorate my apartment for Christmas, and will also hopefully start to bake the breads I like to make.  Sweet breads I mean.  That will most likely take me most of the day. 

Those mind benders are way beyond my abilities.  It would probably take me the whole day to sit here and try to figure each out.  If you got them figured out, my hat's off to you.

I'm watching the weather on the news right now, and it looks like we're going to get snow this weekend.  While I think the snow is pretty, I don't like driving in it, or shoveling it.  Do you like snow?

Life is going on OK here. Had our first rain of the season today but I'm afraid it's not much. We've got a high pressure area to the south and east of us that's keeping all the rain far to the north of us. I think we're in for a year of drought. Just when we got over our last one.

Noticed a puddle of water in the driveway the other day. This was before the rain came. Got out a shovel and dug down a couple of feet and discovered a broken water line. Got to get that fixed.

Other than that life if OK. The 3 horses are healthy. The donkey is well fed. And the 6 dogs try to be on their best behavior. That's about all that's going on here. If something else comes up, you'll be the first to know.

I see you have a lot of fans. Like 1157 views on your post. I guess you know we've got your back.

Mr. Phil - I don't like being in the snow that much either.  Sometimes I read the Encyclopedia, too.  I have tried to roller skate, but it just did not work out.  I like to ride my bike sometimes, too.  I won my bike at the Safety Fair this year.  Well, I have two bikes, and I won one at the Safety Fair and it stays at my Nana's house.  I've never been to Miami before but I was in Florida before for Make-A-Wish to go to Disney and Give Kids the World.

Mr. Jeff - I've tasted something like that cake before.  I like lasagna, too.  I like pretty much anything except fish, baked beans, white beans, and anything that comes from the ocean except shrimp.  For my birthday, I had a zebra cake with tiger fudge, chicken tenders, green beans, and I think I had something else but I don't remember what it was.

Ms. Betty - You can find Grimm on the internet.  That's the way I watch it.  We don't celebrate Christmas.  I like snow, it makes really pretty scenes, but I only like to sled in it and make giant snowballs.  I remember this one time when my brother and I made this really big snowball.  Then my big brother said, "hey, look at this!" and pushed it down the hill.  So then me and my little brother had to go and roll it back up the hill which only made it collect more snow and make it heavier.  It was awful.

Mr. Robert - I'm glad the horses are healthy and the dogs are doing fine.  You're the one with Jack the Donkey.  How is he doing?  You sent us oranges, too.  Thank you for sending them.  I guess they were good, I don't remember.  Thank you for telling me about the weather where you are.  We've gotten way too much rain and lots of places flooded this summer.

Mr. Wolfter - I have never been rafting before.  My parents went but that was before any of us kids were born.  My parents went to a conference for CAP in Charleston last month and I've been to the mall to eat.  I remember seeing the "Highschool Musical" people dancing in the food court and I went to the Build a Bear store.

Mr. Tednlou2 - It took me a while to get that Mindbenders, too, and I had lots of help from my mom and dad.  OK, yeah, I had a lot of help and answers.  My brother didn't even finish it.  He was doing it at chick fil a and my dad finally just told him it was good enough and we went on with our lives. 

I have not been doing much.  I went to dance class on Tuesday and that was pretty good.  I just watched Total Drama All Stars and that was pretty good, too.  I finished Splash Master game.  I took my meds and I'm going to take the dogs out before my bedtime.  My mom got stuck in traffic for 2 1/2 hours tonight because of a wreck.

I have no plans for the rest of the week.  I just kinda wing it and go with the flow.  We're doing a community Thanksgiving dinner setting up on Friday and serving it on Saturday.  One of these days we'll go grocery shopping and I have school everyday this week and next week until Thursday. 

What is your favorite color and why do you like it?  Mine are blue, green, brown, but pink is ewww!  Definitely not pink, unless it's hot pink.

When I was young I didn't care for fish too much but I love it now . Its said that our taste in food changes as we grow older so keep an open mind and you might like all kinds of food one day that you don't like now .

One of the many hard things about living with HIV are these problems we deal with  like diabetes . I sometime wish I was your age again so I could go back and do things a little different like making sure I had good eating habits so it wouldn't be so hard now that I'm old to make good choices . I can see that you are making good choices and only cheating some time and that's a great thing .

Zetta: I want to say hi, too.  I have heard of the komodo dragon before.  The saliva / spit is poisonous.  It's big and has sharp claws and teeth.  But it doesn't walk very fast.

Mr. Jeff: The zebra cake and tiger fudge are really great.  If you want the recipe, my mom can give it to you.  I don't think I'm going to be liking seafood any time soon.  I've even stopped eating shrimp now.  I don't like to always make good eating choices.  I wish I was older like you, though, because there are more things that I can do.  This is definitely not a free country when you're a kid.

I helped with the community Thanksgiving day dinner today with my family and some other people.  We served 140 meals including deliverys and take-outs and eat ins.  Our Doxa dance concert it coming up soon.

I heard that San Francisco has a famous zoo.  Maybe you can go see it when you have the meeting next year.

Hi Mini,

I don't like seafood much either.  About the only kind I like is fried fish (mostly catfish) with tartar sauce.  I used to like shrimp, but not anymore.  To me they look like bugs, as does lobster.  I used to like that also. 

I decorated my apartment for Christmas last week.  I started baking also.  So far I've baked pumpkin bread, pumpkin-cranberry bread, apple-cranberry-walnut bread, and pumpkin cream cheese muffins.  As you can see, they're all pretty much sweet things, but I don't eat much of them.  I put a lot of them in the freezer to give as Christmas presents.  I haven't started making Christmas cookies yet, but I probably will next weekend.  I also make Fannie May fudge.  And no, I do not make them diabetic friendly lol.  They just wouldn't taste right. 

It snowed here last night!  We only have about 1/4 inch right now, but we're supposed to get more today.  I don't like snow much, but it is pretty to look at.

We are going to my Nana's house and we're not eating turkey and we' re going to sit around and talk. I will either be drawing on my nana' s iPad or playing with the dogs. Today we got a lot of snow and we celebrated Hanukkah today. I woke up really early with a stuffy nose. Friday we are going to see that new movie "Frozen". My dad said that first we're going to eat breakfast and then we're going to the movie to get soda, popcorn, and candy.
 My brother killed a dear Monday with a major from his squadron. He cut it up today after all the blood ran out of it.

Today I will be going to my brother's-in-law sister's for dinner.  Then I'll come home and probably watch tv.  I'm not going shopping tomorrow, I have almost everybody's Christmas gift.

You celebrate Hanukkah?  You guys aren't Jewish, are you?  I think that's cool you did that.  I heard that Hanukkah falling on Thanksgiving is very unusual and won't happen again for another 70,000 years! 

Do you guys eat venison?  I like it if it's cooked right.  One time, I went to this event called a "longhouse," which is basically a Native American gathering.  They had it in a shelter built out of flat cedar.  There was a Chief elder who was answering questions.  How we asked questions was to pass around this Eagle feather.  When it was my turn to hold the feather, I got to ask the elder a question.  After it was over, they had a "feast," and one of the main dishes was venison. It was delicious.

Hi Mini! I'm Creighton, and we met first in Mexico city and then in Boston. It's good to see you're posting yourself now, even though I always enjoy your mom's posts, too!

Do you remember Santiago, or Santi, my partner? He remembers you! You once got voted Cutest Kid in my office because I had the picture of my giving you a piggyback ride in Mexico City as my computer wallpaper. I told everyone how you climbed the third-largest pyramid in the world.

Santi flew to El Paso to see his family for Thanksgiving and I stayed here because I had to work some. Yesterday my eye was bothering me so I told my sister not to come, and I was very lonely so it was not a good holiday for me, except that I got to see Lady Gaga and the Muppets on TV. Today I went to work in the morning and then I drove to my dad's ranch which is 80 miles away. I got to see my sister and my step-sister there. My dad has three horses and about 12 cows. They couldn't care less about me. They only interact if they are in the middle of the road when I am driving. They just look at me until I get out of the car and try to pet them then they get out of the way. Sometimes the horses will come up to me if they think I have apples for them but I didn't bring any today.  There is also a "lake" that I think is really a swamp with dead tree stumps in it. Today since the sun was out, there were dozens of turtles piled up on the stumps trying to warm up. Tomorrow I am picking Santi up from the airport and then I will roast a pheasant and put up our new Christmas tree.

Ms. Betty, I don't like deer meat.  I've never actually tasted it but I know if I tried it I wouldn't like it so why try it?  We have played dreidel for the last few days.  I keep landing on shin which means I have to put a skittle in the pot.  One time I landed on gimmel which means that I got all the skittles, but that only happened once.  Not sure why I bothered to spin.  I could have just put one in the pot and moved on.  On the first night we couldn't find our lighters so my dad turned on the oven and lit my brother's sparkler and used it to light our shama candle.

Mr. Creighton, I have a friend who has about 300 cows and 5 or 6 horses.  She has other animals too, mainly goats.  I want to thank all of your friends at your job for voting me the cutest kid.  I'm a teenager now, but I'm still the cutest!  You are roasting a peasant?  Sounds like something an evil king would do but I doubt that he would eat him!

Tomorrow we have school.  This is concert week.  We practice everyday and then our concert is Saturday.  It snowed last week, but it's not supposed to this week.  Friday my dad took us to see a movie "Frozen" and my mom and my Nana went shopping.

So, you had a good Thanksgiving?  Do you celebrate Hanukkah or Christmas?  Or, both?  I have a couple friends, who celebrate both.  We worked on our outside and inside decorations this weekend.  It is a lot of work, but I still enjoy it.  I guess when I get older, I may scale it back to just a small display.  Hauling out tubs of decorations can be hard on the back.  And, of course, it all has to be packed away again.  And, don't get me started on the frustration of lights not working..lol.  I guess it is a good problem to have, compared to other things.

We celebrate Hanukkah but we don't really celebrate Christmas.  But we do go to my Nana's house and eat.  We also don't put up any decorations and none of us believe in Santa Clause and I find it pretty easy to believe why I wouldn't want a tree in my house.  On Hanukkah we play dreidel and that's a really fun game.  We have a hanukiah (not a menorah because a menorah has 6 branches and a hanukiah has 8 branches).

The movie Frozen is actually a really good movie.  If you ever go see it, I think you'll like it very much.  It's kind of like a cartoonish musical kind of thing because it has like 3 - 5 songs in it.  How can I describe it?  OK.  There's 2 sisters and one has ice powers / winter powers.  At the beginning of the movie is a coronation...it's really hard to explain.  Go see it, it's a good movie.

We finished our Doxa Dance concert last Saturday.  It was a really good concert.  All of us but 1 brother and my dad danced.  We got a lot of snow yesterday.  We are going to Civil Air Patrol banquet tonight for 2 of my brothers.  At the banquet, we're suprising my Nana with a special cake that my Paw-Paw had made.  It has a picture on it when they first went to banquet and are dancing together because my Paw-paw is in CAP.  He started at age 12.  The cake is for my Nana's birthday today.  We called her during school and sang happy birthday to her.

I don't put up a tree anymore, because it's only me here (and Poppy, and she might climb it).  I did, though, put out some decorations.  And lights outside, but not many.

I would like to see that movie Frozen.  It looks good, so based on your recommendation I'll try to see it over the upcoming holiday.  We get a week off work, which I'm looking forward to.

I've only eaten deer meat a few times, and it was cooked by Native Americans when I did eat it.  It was good the way they cooked it. I don't know how to cook it.  I also like buffalo meat.  It's tender, and no fat on it. 

So tell me what a Doxa Dance is?  I mean, what type of dance.  Do you wear costumes?

I can't really say if Tangled is better than Frozen. They are pretty evenly matched in awesomeness.

Scott, thank you for saying such nice things. I don't know what to say to people who say those kinds of things so I just say thank-you.

Mrs. Betty, I don't really plan on ever eating deer meat. We don't put up anything. Doixa means "glory" in Greek. We do wear costumes but it depends on the theme of the concert. This concert was called "Jesus, the Light of the World". It was about the Maccabees and Hanukkah and then about Jesus being the light of the world. This concert we wore silver then orange, yellow, and purple tie die. For our last dance, I wore a zoo keeper outfit. That was for our "We Are" dance. In the spring we will do Sukkot, the Feast oif Tabernacles. I don't know what I will be wearing. We won't know for a while.

My brothers' banquet went good my oldest brother won an award and was on the news. My other brother's birthday is Monday but we had his dinner yesterday. I'm doing good in school. I finished my 2nd / 3rd math book. What happened was that I like the color green. So I pulled out the book that was green and didn't pay attention that it was my 3rd book and not my second book. So now I have to go back and do my 2 ND book. When I finish it I will be done with math for the year.  Luckily i don't have to think too far ahead so I don't know what i'm doing this week. I am writing another book in the notebook that my brother gave me.

You like math?  My oldest granddaughter likes math.  I never did.  I'm not very good at math either. 

What did your brother get an award for?  That's wonderful. 

Do you have snow where you are?  We had a snow storm yesterday.  It snowed all night Friday night, and kept up until around 5:00 pm last evening.  I had to shovel twice!  Shoveling is not something I like doing.  I also went out for a short time yesterday, so I had to clear about 6 inches of snow off my car.  Snow is pretty to look at, but it sure makes a mess. 

Do you remember Poppy?  I got her a Christmas present.  It's these dried fish flakes, and a gift package from this place called Flint River Rock Company. That company makes dog and cat food and treats.  Anyway, I have a stocking for Poppy that I will put the present in and give to her either Christmas Eve or Christmas morning.

Wow, had no idea it had been so long since the Wee One posted. She has been having quite a rough time of it. She is falling more frequently - 4 times in the past 10 days. It can take as long as 2 hours for her to regain use of her legs after an episode.

She continues to ask about everyone. We were looking forward to joining AMG in Chicago this fall, then realized tonight that it was the destination LAST year. Boy, am I ever lost!

Now that school is out and life has slowed a bit, Mim should  be back to posting soon.

Hello Mini and Mom greetings from London. Sorry to hear about the falls they sound a right old palaver, as my dear old Mum said about such thing,s . From reading the thread I bet you get on with more enjoyable things as soon as you can.

As you like dogs , I will put some pictures off Mia up for you , but do not hold your breath waiting as it takes me along time to get it to work. Mia on June 10 will be 2 years old ,she has grown up to be a very very good and fun dog to share the day with. My friend Mark who lives in the flat above me walks her when I cannot , and as long as she gets 1.5 hours a day walking ,chasing tennis balls hanging out with the other dogs in the Park a bowl off kibble and left over,s she is happy and good.

Today she will have 2 walks out , a short one in 20 minutes from me and a longer one this evening with Mark.

I walk my dogs, too. Their names are Henry and Ava. Ava is 5 and Henry, I think, is 3. Henry's birthday is on Valentine's Day. Ava's is July 7th. Henry likes to lay out in the sun. Ava just likes laying on the couch.

I am very glad winter is over because we can go more places without all the snow and cold. But, summer is getting in the way, too, with all the heat waves. I have drawn a lot of new pictures. If we end up going to San Diego, I will bring my art folder. I am writing a new book called, "Animal Blood". It is not as bad as you think it is. It is about kids who have special connections to animals. Rose has a special connection to snow leopards so snow leopard is her animal blood. That's just ine charactor. It's not about animal sacrifices, I LOVE animals.

I have been playing outside a lot. Dad finally fixed our trampoline net so I have been jumping a lot.

My last doctor appointment with Dr. Frazier was good. I got a light up ball and we ate at Sonic. It was good, we need to there more often. I got put on more medication. I have a pill I take once a week. I have dystonia and neuropathy. When my dystonia happens, I get this weird pins and needle feeling in my legs. When the pins and needles feeling goes away, my legs stop working. I can't move them anymore. Everybody LOVES carrying me places. They say it's not a hassle at all! I'm just joking - I weigh a lot and my parents are weak. One time when we were in Busche Gardens, they went out and some lady came running speaking a foreign language. It has happened a lot since then. Once my dad even dropped me in the yard carrying me up the hill to the house.

OK, anyway. I found a new place in the woods and I like to go up there. Our great grandmother gave us an old doll house that my great grandfather built. My sisters play with it a lot, but not me.

I am finally finished with school. We go back in September. I will be in 9th grade but I want to be held back so I don't have to go to high school. I am home schooled, so what does it really matter except I don't want to be mature and responsible. Maybe later when I'm done being a kid, which I am not.

My summer plans are to finish my book, draw some more pictures, and just play outside. And, my biggest plan is to go to San Diego with you guys. We thought it was Chicago, but mom said that was last year. San Diego has a big zoo that I would like to see.

About having to be mature ... I'm 52 and I still like many of the things I did when I was your age and when I enjoy them it makes me feel like a kid inside again . I don't blame you for enjoying being a kid because its lots of fun sometime isn't it .

What a pleasant surprise to see your post. Sorry to hear about your dystonia giving you problems.

It sounds like you are putting a lot of thought into your book. What a great subject! I love animals too. Since you posted last we adopted two kittens. They are a Siamese mix, brother and sister, and are now about 5 months old. Their names are Moo Goo and Gai Pan. They were pretty timid at first but are getting used to us.

Sounds like fun summer plans to me. Wish I were going to San Diego so I could meet you and see your drawings. I've been there once but that was a long time ago. The zoo is very beautiful and big. I'm sure you will have fun!

I'm sorry to hear about your dystonia and neuropathy.  I broke my left hip in February, and still have pain and weakness.  But I'm able to get around, just limping, hee hee.

I wish I was going to San Diego but hopefully will go to an AMG at some point.  I bet they're fun!  I'm sure you will have a blast, especially seeing the big zoo.

Mr. Jeff, my Nana has a black lab. He is really playful. He's a great dog. Hopefully when I am old I can still do the things that I do now even though now I sometimes have trouble doing everything I used to do - even if it was just yesterday that I could do them.

Mr. Mitch, well, I like what you named your cats - after Chinese food!  I did some research about the San Diego Zoo. It is one of the top 10 largest zoos in the world. It has 670 species of animals and 3700 animals. It cost $25 a person which isn't bad if you are going to see 3700 animals.

Ms. Betty, I hope your hip gets better. It sounds really painful. Of course you can read my book when I am finished with it. Even if it doesn't get published, I will send you a copy. I hope I get to go AMG and see the zoo ( and the people, too, if they come to the zoo)

Yesterday me and my family and a bunch of other nice people helped my pastor with his house. They had to dig and out in all the water and sewage pipes, build back steps, cut the grass, and put in a French drain. My dad and oldest brother worked fr 2 days with some other guys and my Nana and Paw Paw. My mom made all the food and brought stuff that they needed. It was really hot, too!  I've just been jumping on the trampoline. That's about it. Nothing exciting yet. My mom is having an MRI of her head today to see if she needs another surgery or not.

Did you know that 66 years today on May 14, 1948, Israel became a nation?  Cool, huh. I didn't know if you knew that or not. My mom just told me.

good that you have a lab in your life. everything is better with a good dog! i was raised by a black lab, she was trained to keep me from crawling off a blanket my mom would lay out in the yard. i never made it. dog never got bored. when i grew up i got a choc lab. she was with me for 15 years. lady godiva of the lake, called her diva. she's been gone for four years now. i think soon i'll be ready to have another dog around again.

hey mini, mahalo, the hat is awesome right! its a stitch hat, from the disney movie. wish i had a better picture of that hat, i loved it. i wore it snowboarding, and lost it that way too. i've always hoped some kid that loved lilo and stitch found it and wears it out.

you've definitely got an aloha spirit... if you've never seen lilo and stitch, i think you'd love it. ohana means family, its a great word to know. family is awesome, and it sounds like you've got a great one.

I have seen Lilo and Stitch like maybe 3 or 4 times.  I knew ohana means family.  I have no idea if Chinese crested were voted the ugliest dog last year.  Ava and Henry are not ugly.  If we go to San Diego, I'll bring you pictures of my dogs. 

We went to the mall yesterday.  My legs went out in the mall but luckily I was already sitting down in a wheel chair.  I got 2 new pairs of shoes and new clothes that are really cool.  It was a little chilly today but not that freezing.

I just was reading in your thread and was totally amused at some of the comments. Especially you being on good behavior for the rest of those old guys.

I understand that your mom was the one who initially started you on here and I really think it's great how the people have reached out to you, and you've reached right back.

What brought me to the forums, was my dad was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in late February/March of 2012, he went untreated for a long time and wound up getting very sick, we lost him at the end of March. It was a very hard time for me and the members here reached out to me as well. I found a lot of solace and hope here, and I have become more educated on HIV and things surrounding it, I was very ignorant before.  Anyway I'm glad to have read about you, and didn't want you to think I was a thread stalker...oh and I think I solved your mind bender, check it with your folks!

Oh Mini, I would love if you would come pet sit for Poppy!  I would love to meet you and I'm sure Poppy would, after a while.  See, Poppy is very, very shy and nervous.  There was just a lady here who interviewed me about the early days of AIDS, and when she came in, Poppy ran in the bathroom and stayed there until the lady had to go to the bathroom. Then Poppy ran out here and hid in the corner. 

I think I sent you a picture of Poppy a long time ago, or it seems like a long time.  Do you still have it?

  My name is Frank.. Thank you for the kind words on my thread.. I have read yours and see what a special person you are because you make me smile when I'm feeling down.. You love animals and so do I.. I live in South Florida where its usually warm and sometimes too warm.. I love to paint and ride bicycles whenever I can.. I also love to kayak the canals because there's so much wildlife..

One time I was kayaking through a thunderstorm and I felt like Indiana Jones.. It was an adventure for me because there was alligators in the water and I didn't care that I got wet or that lightening was everywhere.. I don't have dogs because my wife is allergic but she loves them too.. We have 2 cats instead, my wife is not allergic to cats for some strange reason..

I have never been to San Diego and I wish I could go but I have to work this summer.. I hope when you go you will have a great time  Thank you Mini for talking with me.. It's always good to make friends and even better to make good fiends

Oh my gosh! you made me laugh so hard reading your regards to Zach. Crazy Kujo eyes.... Kujo is a Stephen King novel about a scary dog.  Then when you talk about your siblings..bahahahah. I feel the same way, my siblings are so different from me, I'm the baby of the family, but you'd think I was the first born, as my two brothers and sister have hard time dealing with their own lives...Since my dad passed my mom only has me to really count on. 

So what are your favorite subjects in school??? I'm starting law school in August!

Mr. Frank, thank you for posting in my thread. I am glad I could make yuou smile. It is strange that your wife is allergic to dogs and not cats. We have 2 hairless dogs maybe you could try those. I have never been kayaking before but if you spell kayak backwards, it is still kayak. That's called a palandrome - learned that one from Pheneas and Ferb. Learned what a haberdashery is from icarly. Mim said she works hard to provide a good education and I only remember what I see on cartoons.

Mrs. Heidi, I am finished with school, but my favorite was mindbenders. I like science, too. I don't like math. The crazy Kujo eyes was about Zack's dog, not him - but it made me laugh. I am the third oldest in my family. I hope law school turns out OK for you.

Yesterday we went to my brothers' lacrosse team picnic and I played soccer. They gave the players shirts that say, "You play baseball?  How cute!". Mom and dad got one, too. We are wearing them to church on Sunday because we have boys there that play baseball and won't try lacrosse. Got one for our pastor, too. We'll see if he brave enough to wear it. I missed the first part of the picnic because I had singing practice with my friend. Then my cousin came and is spending the weekend with us. Well, that's all. I told you I need a new hobby.

I don't know if you remember me or not, but I was around here when your Mom first started posting and telling us all about herself and you.  I have only recently been coming around here frequently again, and am thrilled to see you posting all on your own!

Oh, yeah um....about me.  Well, let's see.  I live in the mountains of north Georgia.  I work and also help take care of two elderly parents.  I have a Lola Bear.  That's a one of a kind fuzzy dog that is the BEST one I have ever had.  I found her on the steps of the Amicalola Baptist Church, so she is technically "Amicalola Bear".  She looks like a fuzzy rottweiller, and she has a smiley face. 

In my free time, I like to write and I also like to sing.  I'm also trying to get back into frequent exercise because I've had too much good southern cooking - and it is beginning to really show.

Hi Mini!

How's you're summer going so far? I just finished a cruise and it was fun but not a lot to do. I've been on some cruises and it's like a crazy good time. I did get a little sun, and enjoyed riding a 4-wheeler in Mexico.

Do you plan to do anything else fun, other than the possible AMG in San Diego? Summer was always such an awesome time when I was younger. Hopefully you and your family will have some great fun too this summer!

Mr. Mark: Thank you for saying that my thread is magical. I guess it's kinda fun going to lacrosse games even though I don't usually pay attention. I only sing every once in a while.

Mr. Tim: first, my mom told me your name. Lola Bear sounds cute. You did a good job picking out her name. Can you post a picture of her so I can see?  How can I remember you when we've never met?  My !on remembers you, though. At least she remembered your name.

Ms. Heidi: my summer has been going pretty fine. I have never been on a cruise but my parents went on one in January. I don't have any specific plans. Last night we went to the lake, but I refuse to swim in fish nastiness so I sat and talked to my friends and drew and played at the playground. My mom slid down the slide and I had to catch her. After we had hotdogs and sang. Technically, we didn't sing. My pastor sang and we just looked at him like he wasnuts. Sorry.

I have officially run out of things to say for today. I am not real sure if I will have more to say tomorrow or not.

i'm getting this puppy. she's not ready to leave her mama yet though, few weeks yet. she's another labrador, this will be the fourth in my lifetime. like tim, her name will be from an indian place name in the mountains. or maybe, ubiquitously, a reference to a grateful dead song. my misspent youth. i first started going to concerts in the mid 1980s, until 1995. that was all of my teenage years into my 20s

Your comments always make me laugh a little...this time it was "fish nastiness" and when you said you watched your pastor sing like he was nuts.  You're such a funny girl. You're outlook on things is truly amazing!  So you caught your mother after she went down a slide, usually it's the other way around...you'd never catch my mother on a slide. Of course she is going to be 71 this year and would likely break something if she did. Did your folks enjoy their cruise? What did they go on?

ZACH: Oh my goodness, what a cute little furbaby!!! Didn't quite get the name you plan on calling her...maybe I read over it, but could you please clarify? The pic just makes me want to grab her and give her cuddles

Mr. Zach - that is such a cute puppy!  I would suggest calling her Luna because she has a cute little moon face.  I live in the Allegheny mountains so how about Allie?  I am excited about the big reveal on my thread.

Ms. Heidi - no, I would never try to catch your 71 year old mom on a slide. My mom isn't that old.  My parents went on the KLOVE cruise and they really enjoyed it.  I have never been on a cruise before.

I saw the new X men movie.  It was really good.  And me and my brothers and sisters went to my Nana's house for my parent's anniversary because they wouldn't let us tag along.  One of my sisters had a birthday on Saturday.  She turned 12.  That's pretty much all that's happened.  The mornings have been cold so I had a picnic this morning.  I ate my cereal outside in my dad's hammock chair swingy thing.  Well, that's it.  It's official, I need to get a hobby or figure out something more interesting to do so I an talk about it.

Yeah, my mom is pretty old...LOL.

I noticed you celebrate Hanukkah, during the holidays, so I am assuming you are Jewish; with that in mind and the fact that you are 13, I'm assuming you had your Bat-Mitvah, or do you plan to have it this year? If so, did you have a theme, was it exciting?

Anyway, I look forward to finding out what Zach is going to name his new furbaby! I once knew someone who named a lab or some other BIG dog "Kitty" it was really amusing.

  Hi Mini!

  I'm sorry for being late to your thread, I haven't been on the forums a lot lately due  to work and family stuff, my name is Thomas.  I have a daughter the same age as you. 

  She hates school. 

  I also have two other daughters: one is 6 years old, and the other is 23.  My 6 year old is going into the 2nd grade next year and she loves school, as does her oldest sister who is finishing up her bachelor's degree in College next semester.

  We have two dogs, Kai and Eddie, a German Shepherd and pitbull.  We also have two turtles, which are referred to as Diamondback Terrapins.  If your mother doesn't mind you seeing them you can find photos of them here in a thread about my German Shepherd:
