Am I infected / Chance of Condom break?
« on: May 29, 2017, 09:20:42 am »
Hi everyone,

My incident occured 28/5/2016. I had sex with transexual sex worker (He is from Thailand).
He did unprotected oral sex to me > I know it is No risk

Then I put a condom on and tried to penetrated his anal.
However, as this was my first time with tranny, i cannot keep my dick erected for long. May be 2-3 stokes, then it slipped off. I tried to penetrate again but it didn't work, he took my condom off and tried handjob and blow job unprotected.

I erect again and put condom on and tried to penetrated for the second time.
As the first time, I put inside but then 2-3 stoke my dick came off.

Sum up, I had protected anal sex (3stokes maximum each time (2times)) but i didn't check the condom after the incident. So my question is

1. I just want to ask how much percentage of condom break.
(though I think my condoms did not break and it just 2-3 strokes)
I have not experience condom break in my life so I don't know is it would be obvious if it breaks during intercourse.

2. Just for sure, could you guys also assess my Hiv risk. (you can assume that condom broke)

3. Do I need to be tested in your opinion.
And If I need how long do I have to wait.
For your information, I live in Japan.
As far as I surveyed, they use 4th generation HIV-1 p24 antigen, HIV-1,2 antibody.

Super thanks
(Lastly sorry for my bad English)

Shane

Hi Shane, condoms are designed to shred when they fail and you would have known.
An intact condom means no risk, simply test at lest yearly for all STIs including HIV if you are sexually active.

Thanks so much Wade!

So basically, i am no risk at all even assuming that he is positive? No need for PEP?
Should I get tested regarding this incident?

If a condom broke during intercourse. I would 100% know, right?
I don't know if it intact or not, disn't check for it, stupid me.
Sorry for confirmation as I have never experienced any condom break.

I also have a girlfriend. Can I continue having sex with her with any doubt?
Or should I just wait for window period and go take blood before to be conservative.

Again super thanks

Hi Shane, We always assume your partner is living with HIV when doing assessments and there is no need PEP after protected intercourse.

Keep in mind other STIs are much easier to transmit and anyone who is sexually active should test at least yearly for all.

For your girl friend , I can't in good conscience tell you it's OK to have unprotected intercourse until you both have been tested for all STIs and are in a monogamous relationship.

Thanks again Wade ;)

Hopefully this would be my last question.
So, in your opinion after taking all the chances, i am no risk in terms of Hiv  and also no test is recommended regarding this incident that i faced.

As you mentioned that if there was comdom break, i would have known it already.
Can i totally forget about this incident and move on.
I have been anxious so much.

Thank you
Shane

HIV can not transmit through an intact condom. - Move on.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim
