and he tells me after 4 months his bloods are

In short: yes, some people's immune systems are extremely good at containing the virus and may therefore have virus levels below detection. There is still virus there and they still have positive results if they take an HIV test (because it tests for antibodies). I also know someone - very lucky! - in this situation.

Yes indeed, such people do exist. There are several folks here at the Forums, myself included.

While my outcome to date has been quite good, 27 years positive and healthy, there is no certainty that this will always be so. I count by blessings every day !

People such as myself are often referred to as 'long term non- progressors' ( LTNP's) and are sometimes called 'elite controllers' or 'HIV controllers'. There are many international studies that are looking at factors associated with this lack of disease progression and consistent undetectable status. Again, there are several Forum members  here, such as myself, that are in these studies.
