Not sure what to do??
« on: October 23, 2006, 06:02:09 pm »
Hi, I have had unprotected sex around 5/6 years ago and have been anxious ever since ive had around 6/7 HIV antibody (& 1 proviral dna) tests at various times the last one being only last week all have came up Negative but i am sure i have an STD of some kind the reason being that I get sexual feelings normally when I eat/drink certain foods from certain places - i am convinced that these people put some kinds of anti viral drug/s in these as, as soon as I drink/eat them I always get an erection/sexual feelings (sometimes not always straight away) and feel warm/hot sometimes (note: this is only normally when i have eaten or drank foods with what i think have anti viral drugs in them) sometimes the feelings i get have been so intense that i couldnt concentrate on my work and have to releive my self via masturbating to feel normal and be able to concentrate/work.  I have also been suffering with IBS for the last 2 years but when i drink/eat foods with (supposed) anti-viral drugs in it is actually helping my IBS, but i now feel that i need to eat these foods (& drink - always tea!) to control my symptoms - i am always much worse in mornings but eating/drinking these foods/drinks always seems to help and stops me feeling a mess and makes me able to work!

When the latest test was taken I asked the doctor wether taking anti (hiv) viral drugs would effect my result but she assured me it wouldnt and would still come up positive as the tests are so sensitive and that anti viral drugs normally effect the viral load rather than the antibodys (which are usually always present?!)

Im now not sure what to do as my condition has got worse and am actually quite embarrased about going the same shop just to buy these foods/drinks to feel normal.  I have also had a Hepatitis A/B/C blood test in April all of which also came back negative!

Could it be that it may be chron's disease as my stromach/rectal region sometimes also feels strange as if it is being pushed when i get these feelings.

I have made an appointment in a GUM clinic this week so will be speaking to a doctor then, I just wanted to know what you think I should do regarding my problems??

Thanks, JThomas.

Note:  I have been getting these feelings for around 2 years now when certain food/drinks are taken could it be that if they had anti virals in them this would be long enough to get a Negative result?

You have reliably tested negative for HIV. You are HIV negative. Period. End of story.

None of the liquids you have been drinking would have affected the results of your tests.

Discuss your physical problems with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV.

Thanks for reply,

Is it still worth seeing a doctor in a GUM clinic (as I am concerned it may be an STD even tho it was so long ago!) or should I just see my GP?

Anyone who's sexually active is well advised to regularly have a full STD panel done.

Given the length of time since what have been your last risky incident, it seems like a sensible thing to have the panel done simply to remove any doubts from your mind. This has been hanging over you for way too long.

And remember in the future to use a condom every time you have intercourse. No exceptions.
