About 4 week test
« on: July 07, 2017, 12:57:12 am »
Hello. My friend had u nprotected sex with guy whose status is unknown. Shes taking way too stress about it and worried to contract hiv or std. So we took her for hiv test after 30 days. It came non reactive. Wanted to know that 30 day test is good indicator? How much it likely to change after 12 week test? Love to get your opinion. Thank you in an advance

I've moved your topic to a more relevant forum, since you are not the person affected by potential HIV exposure and are purportedly writing on behalf of a friend.

If your friend had unprotected sex with a partner of unknown status (we moderators of the forums presume, for risk assessment purposes, that those of unknown status are HIV positive), she is at risk for potential HIV infection.

She should test at six weeks past potential exposure for HIV antibodies, then at 13 weeks past potential exposure for confirmation of the six weeks results.

It is a good indicator, however, that she has tested negative for HIV antibodies 30 days past potential exposure.  It is unlikely to change.  However, for peace of mind, your friend should consult with her healthcare provider to determine the time frame for conclusive test results.

Have your friend access this link to learn more about how to prevent the chances of HIV contraction in future activities:
