Updated Reyataz dosing if taking Sustiva/Atripla
« on: December 15, 2008, 09:21:56 am »
I guess this should be in the "Treatment & Side Effects" forum, but I wanted to insure that it gets seen, so I've posed in the "Living with HIV" forum -- feel free to move it if you must.

BMS has recently changed their package insert to indicate that if you are taking Sustiva (or Atripla) with Reyataz, that you should be taking 400mg and 100mg of Norvir daily.  This is a change from 300mg.  Here is a quote from the insert as well as a link to the insert:

"If REYATAZ is combined with efavirenz, REYATAZ 400 mg (two 200-mg capsules) with ritonavir 100 mg should be administered once daily all as a single dose with food, and efavirenz should be administered on an empty stomach, preferably at bedtime."

edited to ask:  Can someone insure the Drugs section of POZ.com gets updated with this info?

Thanks, Mike! I've given Tim Horn a heads-up about the Reyataz lesson.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
