morning, always same time (alarm) (no need for food), then forget about it and get to work or back to sleep (or the other way around): time spend: 2 sec.

never have to carry meds but have some spares in travel bags or car

once daily viramune + Epzicom

I take Prezista, Norvir and Truvada, all at once daily.  Compared to regimens from the 90's that included Crixivan and it's eating restrictions, or Viracept, Zerit and Videx with it's side effects like diarrhea and facial wasting or Sustiva and its mental issues, this has been my easiest combo ever.

Didn't we already do a thread on this?

You're thinking of the meds thread in LTS.

I'm not gonna post my meds. I'm not on hiv meds, but I do take other meds daily. I'm gonna keep you guessing. A woman should have some mysterious aspects to her life, doncha think? :D

Atripla is one of my pills taken each day.  I was taking an herbal supplement (Mukta Vati) with my BP med (Hydrochlorothiazide) but have stopped because it may not be a good idea to take that with my Atripla.  I had a slight increase in VL count in my Jan 6th blood draw (less than 20 copies up to 80) so I dont want to take that risk of putting herbals in my system that may affect my HIV meds.

Oh.... every now and then I take my Xanax if the need is there and when flying... always a Valium or two.  Thats it.

Morning with food -- Prezista, Norvir, Epzicom, Lescol, Fish Oil (2), multivitamin, calcium, vitamin D, aspirin

Evening with food -- Prezista, Norvir

Very early in the AM once a month with water only (NO COFFEE  :( ) -- Boniva

As needed -- scotch, cialis

everything but the scotch, multivitamin and aspirin were initially suggested by one doc or another -- and they approve of the aspirin and multivitamin...

For bonus points  ;) I keep a list of every drug prescription that I've had since AIDS with the dates, dosing and, most importantly, whether I stopped them because they caused a problem.  Each doctor gets a copy, the list of my other "medical providers", the lists of tests, procedures and followup dates and the most recent labs.

a persistant herpes zoster infection. without it I have a "shingles" outbreak in my left hand about 4 times a year. :o

The sweet part of taking acyclovir is that not only does it keep the HZ in check, but it has anti-viral properties and actually helps keep the HIV in check too. w00T!

I had a  zoster  vaccination (the one where they inject under the elbow of skin) way back in 2002, an Bob had one in 2003, for you, I guess that would be kinda redundant now  :-\

I had full-blown shingle outbreaks (the spot on my rt hip still aches at times) way back in 93, 94, and 96 when I was living with da aids. Even though I was way below the age guidelines, because of the HIV, I did had the Zostavax shot a while back - and still had another outbreak or two. ::) The daily dosage of acyclovir however does the trick though - with both big and little outbreaks of shingles.

the only time it failed me was while Jim was in the hospital those 2 months in 08. I was under severe stress at that time (a trigger) and will admit to missing quite a few doses (another trigger!) of everything (thank goodness the HIV meds didn't screw up!!), so I had several outbreaks during that time and for a following couple of months. But that incident did prove to me and the doc that the daily acyclovir really did work.

Mikie, I never had shingles before, and since my vaccination, I don't even get cold-sores or fever-blisters anymore, we both don't......anyway, good luck to you, and keep on taking your acyclovir  ;)

Loperamide (PRN, usually 4 - 8 caps a day)
Ramipril..prescribed in April last year, still have half of the original pkt in cupboard as I kept forgetting doses and then forgot I was on it (whoopsie!). That said with weight loss BP now normal to slightly low.

Atripla - 1 x a day - evening before bed - because it makes my skin look radiant  ;D
Lopid - 2 x a day - every twelve hours - for high triglycerides

That's it (unless a CPAP machine could be considered a type of med)

This makes no sense -- show me something to back it up.  If it gets filtered out by the kidney, it gets filtered out -- whether you piss it out while the sun is shining or whether it is sits in your bladder waiting for you to trot to the toilet in the nighttime.

edited to add:  In fact, unless you have dinner at 10pm, you are probably losing absorbtion of the vitamins.  Many are better absorbed with food -- plus taking a multivit on an empty stomach can cause you to have an upset stomach.  Of course, I suppose if you aren't fully absorbing them, then you would be right -- you ain't peeing them out -- your shitting them out instead.

Do those of you taking Vit D take regular or the D3?  I'm still confused which is best, or if one is better.  If I remember correctly, D3 is the activated form??  Which means you don't need sunlight to activate it?  Just curious, because I was going to start taking Vit D.

And, my partner has sold me on fish oil.  His lipids have really improved and he also believes it has helped him lose weight.  But, he also went on a new lipid med at the same time, so hard to tell.  I'm not sure how it would help with weight--unless the fish oil and lipid med cause the body to metabolize more efficiently.

Tricor and Lovaza? are they both for cholesterol? How bad were your numbers and have these 2 meds helped?

Cholesterol used to be 324, last draw was 156. Triglycerides were 1606, last draw 156. Part of the problem for me was being on Kaletra.

Ahh the Kaletra years. I remember taking those orange pills and 20 minutes later I would find them still intact in the toilet bowl. At the end they literally just passed right through me.

if you would have taken it in liquid form you could have had the same result - it just would have come out the other end.  ;D

Just to be on the safe side, why don't you print out the five pages of the "Nutrition, Wumpette Style" thread and have your doctor include it in your medical file.
