I'm very upset. Seriously. I'm going to freaking shoot someone.
As a lot of you guys know I had my rat, Mystery, put to sleep not too long ago - and decided to have her cremated (as I happen to believe cremation is 1) responsible 2) respectful, etc, etc). The vet bill, is, of course, fairly large. Over $200.00. The actual surgery was like nothing - he let us go on that since it was unsuccessful. The cost of supplies, still, almost nada (see, Andy? I don't need Spanish class xD). And actually getting her put to sleep wasn't even too much.
The bill is, as follows:
Emergency service --- 45.00
Sterile Supplies-32 --- 6.75
PDS 3-O Atraloc SH (Z316H) Needle --- 10.00
Gas Induction of Anesthesia --- 16.00
Sevoflurane Anesthesia --- 40.00
Euthanasia --- 7.00
ENA Solution --- 7.00
Special Cremation of Bird or Exotic - 85.00
Total Charges --- 219.75
And I'm not even that pissed off about the price. It was a delicate, difficult procedure. And she is classified as an exotic. So it's more expensive. But here's the part that pissed me off:
We called to ask about a payment plan (we are notoriously poor, and pay in dated checks) and then asked if she had been cremated so that we could pick up her ashes. They said yes, she has been, but told us we couldn't pick her up until the balance was paid off.

Motherfuckers. That's just wrong. It won't be paid off for months - so, what? I have to wait for months to pick up my fucking pet's ashes?
What the fuck.
I'm seriously ridiculously pissed off. What am I going to do, take her ashes and leave the country?

I know that the loss of your pet was very upsetting to you. I've lost a few in my time, it was always painful to me, always expensive, and ultimately, always made me question why I even have them anymore. Unfortunately, the concept of holding ashes for ransom is rather common, and happens more than you would think. Hell, it's even happened with human cremains. PM me with a way to contact you, I don't have much, having bee unemployed for 6 months, but I'll try to help you out so that you can get Mystery back, and take care of her. Like I said, I've been there little dude, and it definitely ain't fun. Let me know....
