Rectal Bleeding, Hemmeroids Maybe?

I've had this recurring issue on and off for some time, it actually went completely away for a couple of years, but recently started again. Basically, a few years back, I was quite the ravenous bottom, needless to say, my ass got quite a workout. Never did insert anything gigantic in there, (except for the occasional 9 or 10 inch dick ) and once several years ago I tried fisting but that was a one time thing and did not have any symptoms at the time. I suspect the hemmrhoids I now have are a cumulative thing. In 2009, I began noticing bleeding when I would douce myself or occasionally when going to the bathroom. It was very sporadic. But I was still able to be a bottom with no hassle.

However, by early 2010, I had a few days straight where I would bleed when going number 2, it probably looked worse than it was, but there was bright red blood and the toilet bowl would turn red. It scared me enough to go to a rectal doctor, who gave me some suppositories and rectal steroidal cream, and ordered a colonoscopy.  The bleeding did stop after about 3 days. The colonoscopy showed that my colon and digestive track and things were okay..I did have some polyps, buy they were supposedly removed. They never mentioned hemmroids.

Two and a half years went by and I never had any bleeding. During this time, I decided to avoid bottoming because I didn't want to rock the boat so to speak, (thank god for oral sex )and the brief bleeding episodes I had during the past scared me and convinced me that my bottoming days were probably to blame. I also have a family history of hemmroids, but not at my age (30).

So fast forward to now, I started having bleeding again when going to the bathroom, in the stool. Not sure why, I have been taking care of myself, and haven't had any anal trauma or sex..I went and saw another rectal doctor a couple months ago and she did a local exam but didn't think anything was wrong. And at that time I wasn't having bleeding.

 But now, two months later, out of the blue, the bleeding is back. It doesn't gush out or anything, it more oozes out and trickles when I go to the bathroom. It is bright red, and I have had a few bouts of itching as well. I looked at myself with a mirror, and there does appear to be a protrusion from my anus. I took tissue and dabbed the area, and the bleeding seems to be coming from the same area but it is more pronounced when I actually go. It looks like a minor flap of tissue hanging there, but doesn't look especially discolored or anything..I am not a doctor, but I suspect it is a hemmeroid. So now tomorrow I am going back to yet another rectal doctor because of the renewed bleeding. I hope he can give me some clarity and diagnose me if in fact it is hemmeroids. It's just rather scary.

Two of my uncles had to have hemmeroid surgery, where they had theirs removed, but that was because of straining and hard labor and they were in their 50s. So what are my options? Is there any medication they can give to stop the bleeding from coming back once and for all, or will they have to remove it? And do you have to be totally put to sleep for that or can they just do IV sedation? I have heard about the banding procedure as being preferred first before the actual removal, is this true? I did have a rectal pap for HPV a few months back, since they are doing that to all HIV patients in my clinic, but I am pretty sure I was negative or I would have heard something. But am going to confirm this week to be sure. Just glad I'm going to the doctor tomorrow, this bleeding scares the hell out of me.

Just scared and needing some support or any encouraging words from any who have experience this before. Kind of makes me wish I hadn't been such a ravenous bottom, but those 9-10 inchers were too hard to pass up, I suppose (have to use humor to help me deal with this) Thanks for any helpful comments!

PS: I should also add that aside from rare itching, the only symptom I have had is bleeding when going to the bathroom or with wiping, never any pain that I have noticed.

Things like that are next to impossible to diagnose over a computer.  See your doctor.

I had an anal fissure repaired a year or so ago and it was a VERY easy outpatient procedure with sedation (I don't remember a thing).

I Had a hemorrhoid surgery done when i was 20 years old, from my day of heavy weight lifting. Too much of anything is bad for you      You don't have to be put to sleep they do spinal block on me.

The surgery is quick, finished in less than an hour, what awful after is the recovery. Passing the stool in the first few days was painful but it getting better. within a week you can resume your life as normal.

Another thing to ask about is anal fissures. My brother-in-law had these and he was but 35 at the time...and I'm pretty sure he never bottomed!

Well after spending a night or two scared to death thinking I had colon or rectal cancer, I got in to see a colorectal doctor today and he gave me an exam and said I basically had no hemmrhoids to speak of, and he probed me and sure enough, the inflammatory polyp that I have had for awhile was the culprit for the bleeding, he is 99% sure of. He said basically all I have to do is come in for a colonoscopy and he will remove it! Hopefully, the bleeding will stop! Kind of relieved I don't have hemmerhoids, and they biopsied the polyp a year ago and said it was benign but now since it's causing symptoms they want me to have it removed. I am going to do just that this week. Wish me luck!!

What follows is completely anecdotal and should not be construed as medical advice or advice on how a proper gentleman should conduct himself in this day and age.

So - I had a similar sounding problem for about a year. After the third month, I went for a colonoscopy. Beautiful, they said, nothing wrong at all. But since the problem continued, I learned to live with it, assuming this was how it would be forever and that I would never have sex again. Case closed, no big deal.

Fast forward several months: When I tested positive for HIV, they also gave me a bunch of anti-biotics for, um, personal troubles. Anyway, they gave me some antibiotics, for, oh about two months and my other problem (similar to yours) stopped. I hadn't even mentioned it since it was just normal by that point, and the anti-biotics were very much for something else.

Being that I'm from the South where we mature early, I had always made it a habit to visit the health clinic at least twice a year for complete screenings. Until the HIV and the mumblemumblemumble things in November, I had come back pretty clear, so I don't know what caused it, but it really seemed to listen to either those antibiotics or the Stribild, and as far as I know Stribild doesn't have any off-label uses unless someone somewhere really needs gravity to move around side to side and up and down at unpredictable times, because Stribild is great at that.

I don't recommend blindly taking antibiotics, but have you had a disease/infection specialist poking around or just the gastroenterologist? Because they went pretty far with that colonoscopy and all I got was congratulations on my meat-free diet. It's possible they assume it's not bacterial if you've made it to the specialist stage, and without a "regular" doctor to fill in the gaps, you might be needlessly suffering all for the lack of a shot of penicillin.
