Please ease my mind
« on: January 09, 2014, 01:08:31 pm »
Hey guys and girls,

I've done a lot of searches and read a ton of threads on here and I'm pretty sure I know my answer, 99.9% of my mind knows my answer but sometime you just need someone to tell you it's okay and ease that 0.01%.

So the incident in mind is about 2 weeks ago I had protected sex with an old friend of mine, I ejaculated and we continued to have sex for about 15 minutes as I was still erect, we then stopped and I stayed inside her for a few minutes while we kissed etc until I was soft, I then pulled out and the condom was still on my penis with semen in the tip.

I removed the condom and briefly checked the condom by squeezing the tip to see if the semen stayed inside, it did.

All seems okay and zero risk, however the only part that is worrying me is the fact I stayed inside until I was flaccid, and the possibly risk of her vaginal fluids seeping inside the condom, however seeing as the condom came back out still covering half of my penis there should be no risk right?

Nek,

No, you did not have a risk and no, vaginal fluids will not "seep" as you're imagining.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST FOR HIV SPECIFICALLY FOLLOWING PROTECTED INTERCOURSE, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Hi,

I just need someone to ease my mind really, this morning I bought a burger, after I had finished it, I noticed the woman's finger had a plaster on with blood all round it!

It looked like dry blood but I can't be sure, it was about 1 minute before I took a bite of the burger. From what I can see stomach acid would have destroyed the virus anyway?

What's worrying me is today of all days I have a mouth ulcer, am I panicking over nothing?

I didn't see any visible blood on my roll

Please only post in this one thread no matter how long between visits or the subject matter, you can find your thread by going to your profile and selecting show own post and it will take you here .
The risk factors for HIV are ...
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex .
Mother to child during or shortly after childbirth .
Sharing IV drug rigs immediately after an infected person .

HIV is a fragile hard to transmit virus, once outside the human body small changes in temperature and PH levels damage and render HIV unable to infect ... instantly . No one has ever been infected from ingesting blood on food ... there is simply no way for that to happen due to the fragile nature of the virus .

Talk with a mental health specialist, they can provide you with the options.  There is help available.  Good luck.

Joe
