does anyone know if there are cafes or bars in Vancouver where you can buy Weed? Gonna be there for a few days.

Is weed legal in Canada?? That would explain an awfull lot, More than once we walked into a cloud of Hemp smoke
on the streets of Montreal, I figured it was due to the Music festival that was going on....

Up here, pot has been decriminalized but not made legal yet. If you have a joint or two on you you could be finded but most cops are far too busy to be bothered. If you are caught with more on you you could be charged with trafficing. It's not a criminal offense so you won't get anything on your record. Vancouver is totally different; it has been coined the "Amsterdam of the North" just not too sure why. It's not like it's more north but rather west?!?! Eh! What do I know!! Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, it's almost impossible to walk down the streets and not smell the sweet perfume of thc filling the air! To answer your question Jack, yes, there are bars in downtown Vancouver that see pot but I don't know which ones. All I know is the the cops have more pressing crimes in Voncouver to deal with than the occasional pot smoker.

Jonathan; If you recall, Rab and I tried to get the Forums to consider the possibility of moving AMG 06 to the west coast of Canada, and you all that live east of Texas, POO-POOed the suggestion due to the expense of visiting Vancouver. Little did you all know that your shortsightedness was barring you from seeing one of the most interesting, vital, panoramic, lush, and exciting cities on the globe. As for the expense, we can always find a cheap place to stay for a few days. All you have to do is find one of the bars that cater to the needs of the "Stoners", like Jack, John, Trish, and Me, and all the sudden you would instantly see the benefits of going out of the way, to the West Coast.

Vancouver truly is one of the most beautiful cities anywhere. A very large city nestled in with the Canadian Rockies just to the east.
I PM'd Jack of a place called Fram's Cabaret in Gastown. It is a rock and roll joint with more than music rolling. If you get lucky, you might catch a top act band there tuning up.

Well, guys, you all know I have to have my herbal medications to walk, so I will be making an attempt to carry some with me, but don't count on any thing for sure. At any rate, if my Zippy Cart gives up the ghost, at least there will be a passel of pushers available. ;D

Holy Crap, I'm falling in love with Canada !!! How is it that I didn't stumble across this little Tidbit of information before we went to Montreal last week?? Methinks the Boyfriend may have kept this from me... which is too bad because Im loads of fun when I'm Stoned. Isn't Canada famous for it's superstrong Hydroponic pot ? Are there places that you can buy the seeds? I think I read that seeds for high powered hybrid weed can go for $10 each , although with my luck I'd probablly get Burned and wind up planting Canadian Wheat or something...
Why try to disguise a bong ? I figured that the AMG crowd would be the type that could make one out of a water bottle, Paper towel tube and some foil,, or there's always the Mythical 'Gravity Bong' which I believe is just a 2 Liter jug with the bottom cut out...

Hydro stuff is ok. Main prob with weed these days is that there is SOOOOO much demand on both sides of the boarder that many grow-ops are resorting to quick grow methods to keep up with the demand. Unfortunately, like fruit, you pick it too early and it's not fully ripened and mature, well the stuff isn't as good. It's not bad but I have had much better pot in the past. Medical grade stuff is good but if you qualify here for it they really watch you like a hawk so that the stuff you get is only for medicinal purposes, not recreational.

From my most recent experiences..the stuff I have tried a few years ago was much more stronger than my early years ( 1969-1972 ) and by far. Back then I do remember that sometimes smoking a cigarette was more effective. On the other hand hashich was 50 times better then. ;)

I guess so John but probably a bit harder to find. The last time I smoked hash it was someone in a group of people who had it, and it was several years ago. I do remember it wasn't as good as in my earlier years. ::)

I visited Vancouver for a day and was approached by more people trying to sell me pot than any place I have ever been. I wasn't sure if I was wearing the wrong clothes or in the wrong part of town or happened to look like a stoner that day.
