Intelence and High Blood Sugar
« on: May 03, 2013, 04:08:11 pm »
I recently switched from Atripla to Intelence and from day one I experienced a significant increase in my blood sugar levels . I'm eating the same but having to inject exactly twice as much insulin to get the same control .

I'm feeling better than I have in years on Intelence and do not want to change because I have med limitations anyway ... but this whole thing has my doctors and me totally baffled as to why this is happening , there is very little information about blood sugar and Intelence that explains this .

My doc did bring up something she is going to investigate .... what if its nothing to do with Intelence and something to do with my body minus the Atripla .

I'm hoping some one might have some experience with this or Newt will see it LOL . Calling Newt ! .

I ain't no Newt but I know how your recent med change affected you in a good way.
Sorry to hear about the blood sugar issue. :(
If it turns out to be the Intelence would Issentress be an option?
Maybe this could be a temporary side effect?
Obviously I have no answers but hope you find some! :)

I have already been through Isentress and Presista . It gets complicated because of the diabetes  , resistance issues and my need to have a combo that includes something to control HEP B , I have Truvada with my Intelence for that now . Part of the dilemma is not wanting to just assume Intelence is the problem because I cant really afford to ditch a good combo until its clear that it must be done .

I appreciate all feedback and wanted to share this in case anyone else could benefit from the information as well as me .
