diagnosed with depression, I am starting treatment
« on: March 02, 2013, 05:37:36 am »
diagnosed with depression, I am starting treatment

I had a severe panic attack that did not resolve well

The economy is hurting me bad and pushing me in a corner with little chance of an escape route

I started treatment but they say, it way take 1-2 weeks to see the effects
I am spending lots of time in dbed, which, of course does not help

apparently no SE from thoses additionnal meds, so , I am hopefull, so was the psychiatrist

I hope I can survive that one too...

The worst thing would be to be in 'good' health and falling into poverty without safety net

I'm sorry to hear about your situation.  I have little bout of depression as well.  I have to say i've tried most of the meds and didn't tolerate them very well .  I've been taking Wellbutrin XL for a few weeks and i notice a little difference in my mood and they have a generic form of it and also the side effects are not so bad.  My issue has always been with the sexual aspect, the Wellbutrin seems to not effect that at all. In the past though i must say I never stuck with any one of them for the length of time they say you need to.

Also if you are having panic attacks, then maybe a low dose of Klonopin will help as well, this medication is very inexpensive even without insurance.

I hope you can feel better soon.  I've been sort of secluding myself in the past couple of years to the point that friends notice it even more and more.  Part of it is that i consider myself somewhat of a loner, I enjoy my 'ME' time when i'm not working, but I realize i need to be more social.  People just seem to get on my nerves for the most part.

thanks

meds have diferrent names.

I get one inibitor that is meant to release more serotonine. It's effect are normally supposed to take time, but, maybe the serotonine level was so low that I can feel the effect on hte mood

The other one is anti anxiety and I take it at night with a very small amount of sleeping aid. My night are very stable and relaxing. despite I spend most of the day in bed quite unable of anything.

I think I got burnet out by all the depresing news on hte economy here. Politicians seems to stick to 'business as usual' but our customer are closing one after the other so we are left without much prospect.

Thanks for the nice and kind support.

I am so anxious about the future that I do not see that tomorrow is going to be OK

Thanks again

Having had a few lower-mid level bouts of depression myself....a few things that have helped me get out of the doldrums. Going to see a movie, on the big screen.
Lots of oscar-nominated films out there to catch up on.  Tackle an extensive recipe. (cooking is especially therapeutic for me.)  Hitting the gym, even if I only get on a treadmill or elliptical trainer.

Prozac and Zoloft never did much for me.  I have also (as mentioned earlier) heard some good words about Wellbutrin (kinder to the sexual libido too).  But you may be happy with Paxil.  Best---
I may not agree with you, but will always defend your right to disagree.

I still have panic attacks. It seems that I am doing better.

I know the cause...

Business is so slow that I am getting mad at the situation. Untill the slow down in our business arena, I had no problem. Now, I feel terrible helpless, useless

Also, I think, 3 years of on going stress and fear (for the dessease, SE...) did not help

I have just swithched to Viramune XR. but depression and panic attac started before that

Thanks for the support
