You can check out Cactus on Biscayne Blvd. It is a very social environment. If I were there we would hook up and chat a bit.

I haven't been to Cactus Bar in forever; I'm glad it's still there!  I had a blast when I went.

I always like the strip on Ocean Drive but I haven't been there in years, I use to work for the city. They use to have this club where drag queens performed but I can't remember the name of it..I miss Miami Beach

From the New York Times January 2007

"Frommer's Review

Somewhere, over the causeway, there is life beyond South Beach -- that is, for Miami's gay society. Housed in a large two-story space, Cactus attracts a mix of unpretentious, professional, and very attractive men and women. There's something for everyone here, whether it's the indoor pool tables, the outdoor swimming pool, or drinks that are considerably cheaper than on South Beach. Friday evening happy hours and Sunday afternoon Tea Dances are a virtual cattle call, attracting hordes of folks looking to quench their thirst for fun at Miami's sprawling urban oasis."

Sounds like it's still open.
And I wished for guidance, and I wished for peace
I could see the lightning; somewhere in the east
And I wished for affection, and I wished for calm
As I lay there - Nervous in the light of dawn
