Question bout Triumeq assist copay

2016 was the first year my insurance made me use CVS specialty pharmacy for my Triumeq. It took a bit getting use to but I did.. I gave them my copay assist number at the beginning and had no issues, my copay was covered.. Now at the beginning of this year, I tried to get my copay card done again bc of the new year and all I kept getting was the same old card with the December 2016 expiration date, so I called the toll free number and they couldn't help me either. But I did receive a new 30 day supply last week with no copay due, as if the copay assist card was still in effect. Does CVS specialty resubmit the copay assist in my behalf for the new year? Has anyone else ever had this situation?

I just got my Triumeq refilled at the University Clinics Specialty Pharmacy this past Wednesday.  I was concerned since starting a new year with new deductible. She entered the refill into the computer and it came up as owing $0. When I checked my insurance benefits online it stated that $2429 of my $3750 deductible/out of pocket was met for the year. So the copay assist took care of everything. When I started treatment last October the pharmacist told me that they could apply for the copay assistance on my behalf, they just needed my permission. I've never seen the card so not sure if there was an expiration. Also since its specialty medicine, the pharmacists says I don't have to go through my companies mail order. They refill it each month for me and Fedex it to my house at no charge.

 So basically the co-pay assistance from Viiv is covering all out of pocket expenses. After my next refill, I'll have no out of pocket expenses for any healthcare costs for me and my wife and 4 kids for the rest of the year. It looks like I can save and keep all $5500 I'm putting in my HSA account this year since I won't have to pay expenses myself.

Most co-pay assistance cards of which I am aware automatically renew (but it does not hurt to call the manufacturer near the end of the year just to make sure).

My presumption, reading your post below, is that CVS resubmitted the co-pay assistance card number last week (once it is in the system, it should remain there, just as your insurance information does) and it went through properly.  In any case, you were not charged a co-pay, so it worked out fine for you.

My Atripla co-pay carries over fine and Walgreen's sends in the info each year, so I presume your situation is similar to mine.
