New numbers
« on: March 13, 2013, 04:19:36 pm »
I'm well aware I shouldn't read too much into any one lab report, but I'm still trying to understand my new passenger. Leonard (my friends decided to name my HIV infection) is a fickle ass, pardon my language.  I'm in a clinical trial which is why I have so much info in the past five months of treatment. The past couple months have seen a steady drop of 100 copies per month. 500 (Dec) to 400 (Jan) to 300 (Feb), more labs were drawn today, if I'm not UD I get removed from the study.  The doctor said my high viral load (398,000 Oct) is probably why I'm taking so long to get down.  I'm assuming the raging infection was able to seed my lymph tissues with its progeny.  My CD4s have fluctuated, I know that's expected. But my last labs, from February, percentage dropped from 27 to 20, all while my CD4s hit their highest mark since diagnosis, 524.

So I guess my question is, is this type of percentage fluctuation common?  I'm not worried, but trying to understand what's going in with the epic battle raging in me (queue Danny Elfman soundtrack).  Any insights and relevant websites would be greatly appreciated.

Best of hope and health,
-D
