Blood gushing out when I poo
« on: September 16, 2017, 08:25:50 pm »
Past few days when I go #2 there has been a lot of blood that has been coming out with it. It is very liquidy blood, similar to when you have a nose bleed. Also, yesterday in the shower I was trying to get "ready" for a guy and when I was using my enema bulb there was lots of blood that came out with I squirted it out... It freaked me out!

I've emailed my Dr but do you think I can wait till Monday? Or should I go to Urgent Care? I've had bleeding from wiping with rough toilet paper before but this seems to be internal. Anyone had this happen to them before?  :-\

Hi

Whatever is causing the problem, I would go see the doctor sooner rather than later so they can diagnosis and treat it.

Hope you feel better soon

Jim

Hi,

I am with Jim that I don't think I would wait till Monday. Urgent care may be OK but if you're able to go to the ER it might be better. Only reason I say that is if they need to run blood tests or do a CT you'd get results quicker.

By chance have you been eating anything different lately or get injured recently or fell?  Sometimes it takes a few days for complications to appear.

Wishing you the best

Kenneth

If it's bright red blood, it may be indicative of a hemorrhoid eruption or some such.  If it's dark and tarry it could be indicative of an ulcer or other gastrointestinal bleed.

In any case, as others correctly mentioned, you should call your doctor's emergency call or call service and explain that you are going to a hospital emergency room or emergency care clinic.  You should act before you go to sleep tonight, in case it's some sort of slow bleed.

It's much better to take an ambundance of cautions when you are unsure of what is occurring to you.

I had no bleeding today when I went #2. Thankfully...
I still emailed my Dr just so they can check it out. I'm sure they will tell me to come in tomorrow. Maybe it was just a small tear from a rough poo. :-o

I've had the problem after taking aspirin and some nsaids.

I also had it for three days at the end of a bout with a nasty intestinal virus.

My mom damaged her heart by ignoring a bleeding ulcer.  It eventually lead to a fatal heart attack,
