I agree the net and self diagnosis can be problematic from first hand experience .

I suffer from moderate to severe chronic pain and I went over a decade without a diagnosis . I turned to the internet and would show up for doctors visits with reams of printed out information with each new specialist I sought out for help .

My friend who is a doctor finally called me and told me to knock it off because he was hearing about it from other doctors . It was good advice , if a doctor cant diagnose your condition its time to move on to the next one . The day I finally got my diagnosis the new doctor walked in and told I have read your charts , I know who you are and I know whats wrong with you .

I think its different if you are living with HIV and a part of being proactive to stay on top of your health.

I dont use google but this forum and sure I "self diagnos" to some extent. Is that being proactive or or a bad thing?

Last 2 months I spent, and still do, at least 12 hours a day reading up on HIV, mostly here. Its like an addiction and with the amount of information it never ends. Just looking for answers and projecting others misfortunes on myself.

I have already successfully claimed: Dementia, PN, one heart attack, brain fog, anal AND colon cancer because Seroconversion affected my stomach and BM and I read the latent HIV resides down there. I have walking pneumonia ( cuz I cant really feel it) and probably also CMV since I am a bit woozy at times.

So I assume you realize this can be counter-productive by increasing your anxiety levels which, in turn, may cause sleep issues?

I had a drinking buddy once and we decided not to have hangovers so we had a disease of the weekend club . Spina bifida was always a favorite of mine because it has a nice ring to it and rolls off the tongue nicely . Bloody Marys and cocaine cures Spina bifida oddly enough .
