Title: robo calls.
Post by: mitch777 on September 24, 2013, 09:36:34 pm
Geez, we can send a man to the moon and record personal online data to track people to the ends of the earth but we can't seem to put a stop to the most irritating robocallers of the past 5 years.

"The FBI bla  bla bla...."

"This is your final notice about your credit card  bla bla bla...."

They are an illusive bunch. Always changing their phone numbers. Too often and too much effort to block.

The "do not call" list has become a joke. If our government has not got the capability to put a stop to this relatively simple problem, well...

ps- we get about a call (sometimes 3) per week.

Im having an issue with the mail order company I get my diabetes supply's from . They robo call when they think you may be getting low on supply's , when I don't need them and prompt saying I do not wish for a refill at the time they robo call up to four times a day until you call customer service and ask for the calls to stop , they also make you wait on the phone 20 minutes waiting to talk to a human .

I canceled the service out of frustration and anger with them . There must be big money in annoying the hell out of people but I refuse to let a company profit off me when they use tactics like that . I also have a deep hatred of spammers and would never buy a spammed product or click on the link even .

I haven't had a land line now for a decade and rarely if ever get these types of calls.

Older family members gets those same diabetic supply calls.  She gets so angry.

I don't have a landline anymore.  I have gotten a few calls on my cell that start off with a cruise ship horn and tells me how I can get a free cruise.

The beautiful thing about ditching the landline and using your cell for everything is when you do get one of those pesky robo calls or a call from the Obama campaign asking you for money even though you gave them money yesterday you simply select the "reject future calls" button and you never have to deal with them again!!
