No, not necrophilia you pervs.

Necro-ing is a commonly used internet forum term for posting to a long dead and buried thread and bringing it back to the top of the forums.

Many forums have strict rules against necro-ing and prefer a new thread to be started.

I'm not sure I ever understood this policy as a conversation can continue even if the topic hasn't been talked about in months. I do get the part about somebody posting a "yeah! me too" comment to a thread last posted to a year ago.

Do I think we need a rule here like that? no.

But what is the policy to clarify?

Bailey (who likes to question policy lately it seems... mostly because he has too much free time and no hobbies)

Funny you ask this because I was going to respond to a Tax thread I found doing a search and I got a red warning saying something like "this thread has been inactive for 60 days, are you sure", so I canceled my post.

Well, I guess that is the policy then, 60+ day old thread are necros, but not forbidden. (and for our subject matter, probably shouldn't be)

No hobbies hon? I need to get an orlando trip, would love to meet puppy. Is there a local gay dog park you could take puppy to, we have them in san diego. Hobbies, well I am not good at them, I surf the web, go to the gym, work and read. Kind of boring I guess. How about cars, you could become a car nut. My partner and I have three and we are looking at a fourth, that is kind of a hobby. Read your post about FMLA, that sucks, as soon as my doc signed my forms I was approved. I now have 90 sick days per year .... ok I am babbling and drunk, take care and give puppy london lots of hugs.

i don't see anything wrong with bring up old posts. if someone relates or has something to add or even just the shameless bumps to important subjects. i think the posts are in the archives for a reason. that's just my opinion, what's yours?

but yea i got home drunk last nigth and apparantly was incoherent so im glad i did not drunk post

sometimes i post "tipsy" but posting while trashed is never a good idea

Maybe you tried to reinject life to a post that was controversial. I doubt that Ann would have any problem bumping an old post. The one I was trying to bump was about Tax and I must admit the warning scared me and I cancelled my post.
