I am 22 year old male that had insertive anal with condom for about 2 minutes.  I pulled out and finished myself with the condom on initially and then took it off and finished.  No oral.  I noticed I had small paper cut which had already started to heal on my third finger.  I have read the lessons and I guess i want to get reassurance from the experts that my exposure had no risk.  My primary concern is HIV and Hep b.  I probably got a better chance of lighting striking me then this incident.   I do get checked annually for hiv and stds.   Trying to stay safe.  Thanks for your response.

You did the right thing and used a condom. Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection.

You can forget about the paper cut as well. Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse.

Along with reading our Welcome Thread and following the link to the Transmission Lesson so you can understand what is and isn't a risk, here's what you need to know to protect yourself:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

It's good to hear you're already having regular, routine check-ups. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Keep using those condoms, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Ann,  I appreciate your response.  Sometimes you question your own logic because their is so much information.  I kind of new the response before writing the post.  I guess it is nice to here it from somebody else.  It reaffirms my initial logic and thoughts.  Thanks & Have a nice day.
