This is my first post here - I am so encouraged and inspired by this community!

I'm am so grateful  and thrilled to have completed my 6th day of Stribild for PEP, with a goal to complete the full 28-day course.

May I ask you about your experience with side effects?

Some early side effects I anticipated and had: nausea, diarrhea, and fatigue - these seem to be improving.

More recently, starting on days 4-6, I have felt an intermittent cold and sweaty feeling in both of my legs involving my feet and calves (all below the knees), similar to what I imagine Reynaud's phenomenon may feel like, not unlike what it might feel like if one was in  a hot tub and jumped out into knee-high snow.  There were no color changes in skin or changes in capillary refill distally. - I have never had this before.  This coldness in my feet woke me from sleep tonight.  I had labs checked (CBC, CMP, and UA, all of which were grossly normal).  After getting warmed up, it seems to be mildly improving, with the affected areas now just feeling "tired" and still cold.  I guess counting an earlier, more mild episode this evening, this has happened a total of two times - once a few hours before the evening Stribild dose and once about 4 hours after.  Being anxious and sleepless certainly doesn't help :)

Have you heard of this side effect before?  Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks so much, I am very grateful for your input.

Hi

If you are sick go see your primary care/GP doctor and treat what is causing the problem.

The medication you mentioned you should expect no problems or side effects other than a few mild adjust days and generally this only effects a few.

I moved you thread here as you are not HIV positive and as a member of "Am i infected" Please do not post outside this thread

Thank you

Jim

The vast majority of people experience no side effects other than a few days adjustment, far better option than being HIV positive and having to deal with it for life. - Catch my drift, vast reality of the situation vs your class room

Also people who think they are having problems including you should see a doctor, you nor i know what other or underling medical problems, including interactions might be ongoing in patient care. So in short they do not need a nosy researches point of view to mess or cloud clinic treatment advice from a doctor.

Do not post here again - You have an agenda, understand to be honest little from my perspective and I have a short fuse for people with agenda's and I will not warn again.

EDIT - You findings are no different from the package insert for ibuprofen, millions take it fine and yes some will have reactions, that's life. However it is still a front line care treatment for good reason. Same can be said for any approved and regulated medication, and PrEP is listed as essential by the WHO.

Also you missed the point, we are not here to discuss your findings or thoughts, we provide HIV risk assessments in this section and safer sex advice  - That is the limited scope of your participation in this forum.

Take your PEP, test when due and if you are having problems see a doctor!
Sadly that in short is the limits of what we can do or are willing to say, please do not post again.

Thank you

Jim
