Beautiful!  And, they got laid right there at the ceremony.  I am curious about the cake topper??  I tried zooming, but was blurry.

Anyway, very happy for you both.  All the best!

Ted - the topper is a pair of parrots on a perch.  They resemble the parrots on our shirts - the baker took a pic of the shirts to make them.  Obviously our theme was a tropical one.  Will write more when we return next weekend.

Thanks all for your well wishes -- and thank you Jan for getting this pic up for me.

Everything went perfectly on wedding day.  I think what most surprised me was how very emotional it was for me.  After 22 yrs together, getting married was, I thought, more of a political statement.  In fact, it was far more than that.  As we entered the room, everyone applauded and I started to cry (I'm not, normally, a big crier).  Sid's sister officiated and did a spectacular job.  I had a very short set of self-written vows.  It came together fast -- maybe 15-20 mins to write a week earlier.  I didn't look at them again until that moment (although I had the foresight to type it out and print in BIG FONT, so as not to need reading glasses).  As soon as I uttered the first word, I was fighting tears and my voice clearly showed it.  A number of people told me that I made them cry too.
Sid had a wonderful little conversation with the audience about me and us -- very touching and heartfelt.
The entire ceremony only took about 15 mins or so.

The rest of the day was just fun and fast.  I had a dear friend (a sister really) fly in from London with her family -- hadn't seen her in almost 5 years.  Was fantastic to talk with her.  Everyone finally got to meet my grandkids (my parents hadn't met any of them).  My mother and father - divorced for close to 40 yrs are dating again and I got to see them dance at my wedding.

I could go on and on, but you get the picture -- it was perfect.

Our week in Aruba consisted mainly of sitting on the beach, with 3 wonderfully romantic dinners on 3 different beaches -- inches from the water.  We did a little snorkling, but mainly we relaxed (oh -- Wumpy -- I am NEVER submissive).

Now back to reality.  Some Thank You's to write and a letter to send to dear ol' auntie with the pic you see in this thread attached.

Hugs,
Mike
