Wasn't sure where this belongs but this TIME article is a worthy read as it reflects the progress of hiv treatment and research, and the sacrifices made by HIV+ people in the early days of the epidemic..

while i certainly credit the 9 months of AZT that I took to keeping me alive until the advent of HAART, AZT was a miserable drug with not only a terrible (over)dosage schedule (4 pills every 4 hours, 24 hours a day); but with terrible side effects of anemia,  nausea, vomiting, headaches, fatigue, weakness and muscle pain.

Yea AZT! :D (i guess  ::) )

I took AZT as well.  But for some reason, I have erased the awful side-effects from my mind.  Selective Survival Amnesia perhaps?!   :o 8) ???
