Am I infected this way. Serious. Help me please.

I talk to a person who is HIV, and when we are talking his saliva goes into my eyes. If it's the saliva mixed with blood, would I be infected? I'm kinda worried that if there were blood, i may be infected --or not. And now SHOULD I go to meet a doctor for nPep?? I'm so serious.

There's no way you'd become infected with hiv through getting spit in your eye.

Not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv  and render it unable to infect.

Unless you were talking to an hiv positive person that you just punched repeatedly in the mouth, there could not be enough blood to cause the least concern.

You have NOT had a risk for hiv infection. You certainly do NOT need PEP.

NO, you will not become infected with hiv through getting spit in your eye during a conversation.

Hiv is transmitted in very specific ways.

Unprotected anal and vaginal intercourse.

While sharing drug injecting equipment immediately after an hiv positive person has used it.

From mother to child during pregnancy, birth, or breastfeeding.

And that's it.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST FOR HIV OVER SPIT, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

I go to the gay night pub, and there're many people on the dance floor. While dancing, I'm scratched by the others' nail -- it's no bleeding, just scratch; anyway I'm not sure that it's bleeding or not --as I look at my arm and hand, I don't see the bleeding on them. Also, I shake hand with one guy and I know that hiv transmittion doesn't occur through causal contact, but I'm worried that there may be little wound or sore on my hand and his hand. If so, will I be infected? Then, he hugs me from my back and dance with me -- I don't notice that there're any blooding on his arms or not at that time, but being worried after that when I arrive home. I'm worried of these questions, help me please. Sorry for the questions that seems rediculous, but I'm really afraid because I think hiv is high risk in gay group. T________T"

HIV is not casually transmitted period . HIV is a fragile hard to transmit virus that is rendered unable to infect when exposed to oxygen . As long as you use condoms for vaginal and anal sex you will avoid exposure to HIV . Its that simple Wilber .

You are not going to get HIV from being in a room with Gay people and in this day in age is really quite offensive that you think you could .
