CLOSED Scupltra Patient Assistance Program CLOSED
« on: April 20, 2023, 06:41:15 pm »
I've been a recipient of the Sculptra Patient Assistance Program for the past 17 years and was recently denied more Sculptra because 'I have Medicare'. I've had Medicare since 1998 and Galderma supported my need for 17 years for my facial lipodystrophy caused by long term HIV, who the product and PAP was designed for. The Galderma rep told me there is no appeals process and no board to who I can express grievances. We all know that Medicare will never approve Sculptra because they consider Sculptra an elective cosmetic product. Galderma has successfully stabbed our HIV community in the back and we're screwed. Integra, the Galderma PAP rep, told me that this happened because of a new 'backlash law' which she's not allowed to discuss. My doctor researched this law as says it doesn't apply to patient assistance programs.
I should mention that Integra told me that Galderma PAP is under the management of a new company and they're the ones who changed the qualifications for Sculptra patients with Medicare.
Here's the letter from Galderma:

Thank you for your interest in the Galderma Patient Assistance Program for SculptraŽ (injectable poly-L-lactic acid).   We recently received your application for assistance.  Unfortunately, based on the information provided you do not meet the eligibility requirements for this program for the reason(s) listed below.  As a result, you do not qualify to receive benefits through this program as

Patient has public, government funded healthcare coverage such as Medicare.

If you have any questions please contact us by phone at 855-431-3737 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Central Time, Monday through Friday.

Sincerely,

Galderma Patient Assistance Program for SculptraŽ
