Around 15 weeks ago I had an unprotected vaginal exposure with a CSW whose status remains unknown though it was in a region with high prevalence of hiv +. I seriously messed up, the circumstances leading up to the situation are a long story of stupidity...

Needless to say my life has been a living hell, I tested after the 12th week mark using a combo blood lab test and it was Negative.

All was hunky and dorry after the test but few days ago(14 weeks & 3 days post exposure)  I developed sore throat, ear ache and severe diarrhoea. This sore throat has been highly irregular since it neither increases or decreases in intensity and is just staying on at the same level which never happens with me. Consequently 15 weeks post exposure I carried out the same duo test in the lab, this test too was Negative but the sore throat and diarrhoea are present though the pressure in the ears has decreased but the random bouts of momentary nausea,  itchiness inside ear and rare gushes of wind (like air passing through tunnel) in ear continue.

I don't know what all this means, tests are negative but my body is reacting differently, this is not usual for me. Please please advise...

Yes, testing at 12 and 15 weeks past potential exposure is considered "conclusive."

Whatever symptoms you may have are unrelated to HIV.  If they persist and continue to bother you, seek the advice of your healthcare provider.

Would your recommendation change if the CSW was definitely known hiv positive?

No, because testing 13 weeks post potential exposure is considered "conclusive," and it is not easy to contract the HIV, even when conducting risky activities.

However, I am not a healthcare professional.  We moderators on these forums are a peer support group, advising to the best of our knowledge.

I'm sorry to read of your anxiety.

If you are concerned about how conclusive your 15 week test is and want the perspective of a credentialed expert, seek further advice from a healthcare professional.
