Are my results conclusive
« on: December 30, 2009, 05:00:18 am »
Hi,
I have a 82 days hiv test which is negative. I know i should have wait for 2 more days to be offically outside the window period. But my anxiety overwhelm me and i take the test 2 days earlier. Do i need to take another test? What is the chance i will turn positive in 2 more days?

A negative at 82 days would be considered reliable. In many countries 12 weeks is considered sufficient for a final result.

You haven't mentioned what your risk was. Good luck with your test.

You were never at risk.

Yah, well as Rod has said, you were never at risk to begin with. You used a condom which is exactly what you are supposed to do. They provide very effective protection against HIV transmission.

You need to read our lesson on Transmission. There's a link to it in the Welcome thread which opens this section. This epidemic is going to be around for a longtime to come. If you're sexually active as you seem to be, you need to know what's risky and what isn't. Read the lesson. It's a simple matter to protect yourself against HIV. Just use a condom everytime you have vaginal or anal intercourse.

A,

You've already been told that you are conclusively negative. You never had a risk in the first place.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned!
