HIV TESTS
« on: July 18, 2007, 06:34:13 am »
Hi,

I need desperate help, I will explain the whole scenario:This was the first time ever that,  I went to a call girl 2 months back and indulged myself with a blow job and intercourse both the activities were protected with condom. My mind was not at peace after this incident therefor i got myself tested for HIV Proviral DNA/RNA 10 day test, result came negative. On further research i came to know that Proviral test posess 96% accuracy therfore after 7 weeks of the incident i went for the DUO Test HIV 1,2 & P24 antigen test (99.8% accuracy), the report came out negative and the doctor asked me to take this as my conclusive test.

Recently I opted to get myself a body massage, I went to this thai massage centre and the lady she applied baby oil all over my body and rubbed my body alone (not private parts) for 15 minutes, I was lying down on my stomach shortly after that she asked me to lye down on my back, seeing my erect penis she poured baby oil on it and she made me ejaculate within a minute or two (Althought she was fully dressed, i am not aware if she touched her vagina before she touched my penis) she cleaned my penis and my semen with baby wipes and she used baby wipes to clean her hands as well. Then i sat on the bed and she started to speak to me in general, during this time i took her hands and i checked them throughly if she had any cuts or bleeding but i couldnt see anything (still i doubt my judgment). She offered me to have intercourse with her but i strictly denied it. I asked her about her HIV status but she said she never had a test, she stated she had sex with lots of guys with and without condoms. Anyways after we finsihed the conversation i lyed down again and she started to rub my legs and then thighs, she noticed that my penis is growing again so she started to gently rub my balls, then she started to rub my penis as it was totally dry, it started to pain for me when she rubbed it so i stopped her, she then applied baby oil again on my penis and made me ejaculate within 2-3 min and once it was done she wiped everythin with baby wipes. I got dressed up and left..

can you please advice me if i am at any risk of HIV at all in regards to both the call girl and the massage palor incidents..??

do you advice i should go for another HIV test...

I'm sure you know the answer already so if you don't for some unknown reason I'll tell you. You did not have a risk. NO "what ifs or buts" will change the answer so don't ask.

You're not going to hear anything differently than you already have from Rod. Nothing you did put you at risk for transmimssion.

As long as you always use a condom for interecourse you'll be ok as far as HIV is concerned in relation to sexual activity. All of the other stuff - massage, masturbation, touching, etc. are not a risk for transmission. And a mole? That's your mind screwing around with you. If you haven't already read our lesson on transmission you need to do that now. THere's a link to it in the Welcome thread which opens this section.

You have no cause for concern about HIV as of now. We do advise anyone who's sexually active to regularly have a full STD panel done. That means every year and every six months is even better.

Cheers,
Andy Velez

Hi Andy,

Is there a particular reason that you are advising me of STD test every 6 months, Is it quite possible that due to my 2 instances which i mentioned above put me at any sort of STD risk????..particulary HIV??

Thank you

Thank you for the reply...Another query please, how accurate is the 28 day HIV DUO Test (HIV 1,2 & P24)... I mean if a person gets a negative result in regards to the DUO test upon 28 days is it possible it can later turn out to be positive (without indulging in further sex activities)

you mean to say that later after the 28 day duo test the result can change from negative to postive without indulging in any sex activity BUT how can this be possible when the doctor who takes the test states that consider this as a conclusive test???

HI,

I have 2 queries please

1st

Can you please advice how accurate are the following HIV Test results

1) HIV Proviral RNA/DNA  10 day test
2) HIV DUO 28 day test HIV 1,2 & P24 Antigen test
3) Standard 3 month test

2nd

Are there any cases in which a person got a negative result on test (1) later turned out to be positive on tests (2) (3), also who was negative on test (2) later turned out to be positive on test (3), also who was negative on test (3) later turned out to be positive             (All the cases let us assume no further sex exposure is involved)

from what i heard these 4th generation tests are very accurate..

Go to the mfg of the test website and read what it say about their tests. There are no approved test that will give you a conclusive test result under 3 months.

Spark,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep all your additional thoughts or questions in one thread.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

You have not had a risk for hiv infection, therefore your test results are conclusive. You are hiv negative. You do not have hiv.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Keep using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse and you will continue to avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.

1. not approved for diagnostic testing or a negative conclusive result
2. not conclusive at 28 days for a negative result
3. The only conclusive tests approved to be conclusive.

The rest of your questions don't matter.

Spark,

When there has actually been a risk of hiv infection, only a three month test is conclusive.

You, on the other hand, have not had a risk. Your test results are conclusive. You do not have hiv.

Being masturbated doesn't in any way put you at risk for HIV transmission. Zilch. Nor does masturbating someone else create a risk. Neither of those provide the kind of setting in which HIV can remain viable and be transmitted.

You need to re-read the lesson transmission instead of feeding your fears with these kinds of pointless questions. There's a link to the transmission lesson in the Welcome thread which opens this section.

You're worrrying needlessly.

Hi Andy,

Thank you for the reply..

But what I heard is that, if the female who is giving you a hand job has a cut on her hand then blood from that cut can go inside the Penis through various places on the penis and can infect the man..

Can you please clarify this?

Query

1) Is 3 month the conclusive result for test of HIV or is it 6 months

2) If a person rather than undergoing Standard HIV test at 3 months goes for DUO Test HIV 1,2 & P24 at 3 months, will it be more accurate or same or not accurate.

Spark,

Do you actually read what we write, or do you just jump in, asking the same question over and over again?

I already told you that when there has actually been a risk of infection, a THREE month test is conclusive.

A Duo test IS a standard test. It combines the standard hiv ELISA test with the p24 test. If you'd bothered to read our Welcome Thread and follow the links to the Testing lesson like you're supposed to, you wouldn't have to ask these questions.

Now get reading!

You have NOT had a risk for hiv infection and all your testing questions are purely academic anyway.

HI,

I read the lessons, and it says that HIV can be caught by Open Cuts or Broken skin.

Now my query is if the girl in the massage palor who was giving me a hand job had a cut on her hand with blood, then when she was rubbing my penis and if my penis had broken skin, can the virus not infect me??

I doubt if my penis had  broken skin because I masterburate lot everyday..

please advice

spark,

A person's hand would have to be very badly damaged and bleeding heavily - and you would also need to have a fresh, deep cut present - for it to pose even the slightest bit of danger to you. Someone so badly injured would not consent to masturbate you with a hand that was heavily bleeding - it would be too painful.

Mutual masturbation is NOT a risk for hiv infection. Period. End of story.

Hi,

I have done a standard hiv test at 14 weeks of my protected incident and the result came out NEGATIVE, i understand that you have told me that I was never at risk in the first place but since 1-2 weeks I am experiencing severe neck and shoulder pain, is it something to do with HIV (symptom) or is it because I am working out Daily and doing Push ups??

I really mean pain around side of the neck and shoulders its like someone is pulling them from inside??

It's no surprise to anyone except maybe you that you have tested negative. You were never at risk to begin with and getting tested was strictly for your peace of mind.

Now you're STILL asking if your shoulder and whatever were/are HIV-related? What's with you? You're beginning to convince me that you need to see a counselor or other mental health professional to discuss why you are holding on to concerns about HIV which have absolutely no basis in HIV science.

We've done what we can for you here.

You are conclusively hiv negative. You do not have hiv.

Go to your doctor or a qualified, professional sports therapist about your sore muscles. They're nothing to do with hiv.

There is nothing more we can do for you here. Please make sure you read the forum posting guidelines in the Welcome Thread before telling us about your symptoms again. Thank you for your cooperation.

You ARE hiv negative.

Hi,

I have read the trasmission lessons..still I have this query and I would really appreciate if you could answer my below query

If there is a sperm of an infected HIV positive person on the bed and I go and lye down on the same bed just in my underwear and my penis gets in contact with that infected sperm on the bed but not directly as the underwear is between the sperm and the penis..is there any slightest possible chance in .0001% that i can get infected..

Please tell me if I am simply worrying needlessly like an idiot or is it something to worry about..this incident happened today thats why I am a bit freaked out

Spark,

You are worrying needlessly.

You are also quickly heading for a time out.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Spark,

Because as time goes by, we are realising that the vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six WEEKS. I fully expect the official window period to be reduced to six weeks sometime in the next few years.

But wait a minute, you didn't have a risk and the window period does not apply to you.

Remember that time out I warned you about? You've got it. Do not create a new account to get around your time out because if you do, you will be permanently banned, no questions asked.

Spark,

Not only have you attempted to create a new account today(helpme) to get around your time out, but I just discovered that your Spark account was created to get around your OTHER time out, under the username of Worriedeyes

Please realize that this kind of activity is disrespectful of other forum members, as well as our moderators. People spend a considerable amount of time helping others in these forums. Using multiple accounts is at the very least annoying, if not deceiving and disrespectful of others. It is also against our Terms of Membership which you agreed to when you became a member. This information is also contained within the Welcome Thread, which you should have read by now. So really, you have no excuse.

You must realize that the answers won't change, no matter how many names you post under.

Not only are you conclusively hiv negative following a no-risk incident, but you are also now permanently banned from this website.
