If this link doesn't work (has a "lock" icon by the URL on my computer) then you can watch it directly on their web site

I lived one block away from David Wojnarowicz a couple of years before he died.

This film has stayed with me , the sadness off how all those artists opened there doors with I bet every human emotion, plus on a techie level he kept the pace under control, and the shots are framed so well.

I used to receive every month an exhibition off work by artists who had died with Aids , the organization currating this was based in New York , I guess I dropped off there list during  a prolonged period off not using my computer.

Any ideas ? And more please , it would be good to have our own thread off art dealing directly with HIV and Aids.

I'm surprised that more people have failed to comment. I found it very powerful myself.

I had commented in a PM to Miss P but am happy to share here. First, it is brilliant in its brevity and calm. It uniquely conveys respect, grief and hope. It invites your imagination. It also educated me in an unexpected way. As a result of seeing one (among many) particular name I'd never seen before I researched it and ended up in revisiting chunks of my life in the 80's.

In one of our first Aids Walks, Ed and I both were given a picture/print, and to this day, I have no idea who did this work.  Any Ideas?

Mine is still rolled up and in a cardboard tube.  We decided to take the other one and frame it. It hangs in our living room.

Sure would be nice to find out more about it. I just took these pictures of it. Excuse the flash.

Any ideas ?

My baggage watching this video is this: i knew artists who died of AIDS in NYC. Including 2 lovers. They all suffered from the disease AND adding insult to injury half faced hideous real estate nightmares while they were sick.  Losing jobs, unable to work, losing money, rising rents, EVICTIONS. Gentrifying NY crushed extra life out of them, it was excruciating. Watching this peaceful video of shiny lovely images of cleaned up lovely looking NY - it doesn't tell the whole story.  Not that its the point or job of the video to tell that story.  Just that's my baggage when looking at these images, so I shared it here.
