Uncircumcised Penis (risks)
« on: October 07, 2012, 09:07:34 pm »
Basically I got drunk two weeks back and called up an escort. I am a 26 year old male with an uncircumcised penis. I used Trojan ENZ condoms. She put the condom on my penis and started to perform fellatio on me. After a while she asked me what she could do to make me come, so I asked her if we could have vaginal intercourse. She got on top of me for a while and then we switched positions to doggystyle where I finished. Now, the condom never broke or slipped off. I was drunk, but I know for a fact that I didn't feel any moisture while she was blowing me or when I was inside of her. I did feel a warmth, but I don't believe I felt any vaginal fluids and certainly never felt her saliva. My penis was dry for the most part.

I realize that oral sex is a minimal risk. What is bothering me is the vaginal sex and the fact that my penis is uncircumcised. There were no cuts on my penis or anything like that, but I am still worried nonetheless.

I realize there is nothing that I can do now but wait three months to test. I am a little freaked out. I worry that while I was discarding the condom I may have gotten some of her vaginal fluids on my hands and/or rubbed them onto the towel that I used to clean myself afterwards. I talked to her about STDs and she told me that she gets tested every three months, but of course this is never a reassurance. For the most part she seemed like a clean girl and certainly knew what she was doing in regards to "safe sex." She asked me to wash my hands beforehand and I wasn't allowed to finger her and/or kiss her. She was the one who put the condom on and it didn't fail thankfully, which may be my saving grace. I worry about microscopic tears and holes, though. I guess that I feel a bit guilty and worried over my own stupid recklessness. I am also worried that I have a much higher risk than the typical male since my penis is uncircumcised.

You never had an exposure, you had protected sex and you don't need an HIV test.

I am sorry, but I am still worried. Like I said, my penis is uncircumcised. I have read that this increases my risk by quite a bit, or is that really conclusive information? As I understand it, the studies are based upon people who had unprotected sex anyway, but still... it frightens me. I wish my parents had went ahead with the circumcision when I was younger.

Another thing I must add, sometimes I irritate my penis from masturbating without lubricant. I mean, there could have been a wound on the lower side of my shaft. Before I saw this girl I hadn't masturbated much and I throughly inspected myself afterwards for any open wounds. Unfortunately, after I got home I passed out in my bed and didn't take a shower, but I don't think that this would make much of a difference either way. Transmission happens from inside the body. I am pretty sure that the tip/foreskin was protected by the condom. Not so sure about the lower shaft, but I did come inside of the condom and discarded it in the toilet.

The girl did take down her profile information from this one website, though. I didn't contact her through a website, but she told me that she was there. I worry that she tested positive recently and has left the 'biz so to speak. I understand that I am just fueling my own paranoia here, but since sex education is taught so poorly here in the states I had to try to find some input in order to put my mind to ease.

Anyway, thank you for the response.

I am sorry you are worried.

Wearing a condom for oral sex protected HER from YOU more than anything. You din't get HIV from oral sex, but you could get other STIs from that.

Wearing a condom for vaginal sex was all you needed to do to protect yourself from HIV. You did that spectacularly.

This whole notion of masturbation wounds on your shaft is just a rabbit hole of unfounded worry. If HIV was possible to transmit through that easy a mechanism, then we would never recommend sex, even with a condom. It's just not that easy to get HIV.

And stop chasing her. What if she DOES have HIV? Even if she DID, with no meds and a roaring viral load, she was NO DANGER to you. You were protected, way above and beyond the call of prudence.

Seriously, this is not going to be an HIV situation at all.

Still, my question hasn't really been answered: Does circumcision at all make a difference in regards to HIV transmission?

I wore a condom the entire time. I wouldn't have done it any other way, but still... ya know, I don't see escorts very often and I am not much of a risk taker. I realize that there is always a risk every time you have sex. It also bothers me that I was so drunk, but I am pretty sure that the condom was intact. It happened so fast, and I think I would have realized if it broke. Nah, it wasn't broken. I know that for sure. Now if there were tears or rips, I don't remember or think that there were.

How is HIV transmitted from women to men? Specifically? Is it through the very tip of the penis? In that case, I am pretty sure that I was covered. I heard that it is harder to transmit it from women to men, but I would be foolish to think that it wasn't possible. I realize it goes both ways and she was protecting herself from me, but yeah.

In any case, thank you all for the replies. I am just trying to educate myself and ease my own paranoid mind.

Circumcision only makes a difference (and that difference, depending on your penile hygiene, is minimal) if your sex was unprotected.

Your sex was protected, therefore the fact that you are not circumcised is totally irrelevant.

HIV is transmitted from female to male due to the vulnerable urethra (the tip of the penis) and certain dendritic cells underneath the foreskin. These are the vulnerable areas of the male anatomy, and if they come into contact with infectious fluids - and these fluids are located in the thick mucousal secretions found quite deep within the cervix - HIV can be transmitted.

It is significantly more difficult for HIV to pass from female to male than the other way around, obviously. A woman's vulnerable area is basically the entire vagina.

Hope this has answered your questions.
