Hi im a male 36  over the last 3 years I had 11 diferent sexual encounters all vaginal condom protected but this same woman also gave me unprotected oral sex (blow job) today I did a rapid test, prick my finger to get the blood sample and add the reaction liquid, after 15 min there was a strong red line on the C and after like 4 or 5 min after a very faint and I mean very very faint line show on the T area, I have to admit I was really nervous when performing the test and I migth of added more reaction liquid than the necesary amount bacuse it filter from where you pkace the blood sample to the results area. So before freaking out I did some research and in med help and also in this forum there were at least 40 diferen post by people who had "weakly reactives" or faint lines and when repeated or confirm came back negative and also pleantly of articles that staded than when they conducted this rapid test, the bands that had weakly reactives, most of them if not all came back negative, Im really stress out and reaching out to you guys, what do you make of this given my sexual history and what experiences had you come across with this issue of the faint lines

life123:  I have moved your post to the "Am I Infected?" Board because that is where it belongs.  The "Off Topic" Board is reserved for issues unrelated to HIV.

I have no opinion on your rapid test since I can't see the results, didn't observe whether you took the test properly, and have no clue to what a "very very" faint line could mean (or whether it is no line at all).

However, protected vaginal intercourse is not a risk for HIV infection.  Receiving unprotected oral intercourse is also no a risk for HIV infection, but could be a risk for other STD's/STI's.

If these are the only activities which cause you concern, you can relax:  you have not contracted the HIV from these incidences.

Look if you are unsure about the result or don't understand it than follow-up with a doctor for STI testing.  Even if you had a reactive result it simple means follow-up testing is needed. So go do that.

Other members outside the mod team will not reply to your posts here and as I said before please read this welcome thread, it will help guide you.

This is your last free post here so I will add that you should be doing STI testing including but not limited to HIV as a sexually active adult at least yearly as routine. Reading your posts this is something you seem to have not been doing, so now is a good time to start.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

@OP

Banned for 30 days and if you come back and continue than it will be a permanent ban & block.

I warned not to post outside this thread and removed your additional thread and than you hijacked another OP's thread with your concerns.

This is simply if you are unsure about the result or don't understand it than follow-up with a doctor for STI & HIV testing.  Even if you had a reactive result it simple means follow-up testing is needed. So go do that.

Please read the welcome thread, https://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=220.0 and the welcome message at the top of the page in this section.

I'll note there is simply nothing more we can do for you here.

Asked and answered - 13 weeks is conclusive result if you had a risk

Now you are getting permanent ban as promised.
