Unless you have unprotect anal or vaginal sex, you don't ever have to worry about contracting HIV.

I just got back from the optometrist, MAN was it a horrible visit. I mean when she was checking my eye with this machine that blows wind into your eye, to test for your eyes reaction. I noticed a large red smear. What was the red smear? I have no idea, could it have been blood? Perhaps. Before she used the machine on me I pointed out the smear to her and she was like "eww what is that" and she got a tissue and started to wipe it clean, this is where I have a problem. After wiping it clean she proceded to check my eye with that same machine and opened my eye up with her hands. So whats my problem? My problem is she never washed her hands from the smear on the machine and touched my bloody eyes.

So my question is, is 5 or 10 minutes sufficient time for HIV in a large amount of blood to die (inactive) outside the body?

And does this warrant testing?

Thanks in advance

No, that isn't your problem.

Your problem is that you have an obsessive compulsive concern about HIV and yes, it is time for you to see a mental health professional to discuss this. You need to get help in a proper setting and this site is not it.

We've done what we could for you.

You are warned and an are on the verge of being given a time out.

Bad,

No, this does not warrant testing.

However, it does warrant a long over-due time out.

We can't help you with your hiv or other phobias here. There's nothing more we can do for you as we just don't seem to be getting through to you.

Seek some help with your phobias. This isn't the place to deal with them.

Do not create a new account to get around your time out because if you do, you will be permanently banned, no questions asked.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

I have a few questions.

1. In What circumstances can HIV infect someone outside the body, when present in blood?

2. I had a rash on my forearms that lasted for a few days, pinkish, reddish raised spots, anything to do with Symptoms? Is that "the rash" that people talk about?

3. If blood was to come into contact with the rash which was bumpy (scratching it lots), reddish and sore. In other words just simply irritated skin. Please keep in mind that this wasn't concentrated in one small area but on my entire forearms.

Thanks

You're acting like I post here everyday. Check the dates that I post on.

This is a place were I believe I can get good advice quickly, without having to book an appointment and waste the NHS's time.

So I would be grateful if you could help me out with my questions. I won't be back anytime soon, probably until my next "exposure".

I am going to seek help for my phobia as it has basically destroyed my life.

Thanks

bad,

You've never had an "exposure". You keep asking the same questions over and over again. If you haven't understood us by now, I don't have any hope that you'll understand if we keep answering those same questions over and over and over.

I'm revoking your membership. Please get counseling for your hiv phobia and obsession. We cannot help you with that here.
