I'm Ray!
« on: March 23, 2007, 05:13:18 pm »
Wish I was this bold and outspoken about my "homosexuality" when I was his age.  This new generation really is much luckier than mine...  Is it just an impression?  Perhaps.

Hey, I'm Ray

Wish I was too..  If I would have came out at that age, don`t guess I`d be typing this. Things were so one -sided when I was growing up. I grew up in the Bible Belt  and it was just wrong to feel that way.. I told my Dad and he told me I was going thru a phase all young men go thru and it would pass.. Still has`nt passed.. Don`t think it`s gonna... I am what I am  ::)

I am what I Am    :)   Gloria Gaynor....

I am what I am - I am my own special creation.
So come take a look, give me the hook or the ovation.
It's my world
That I want to have a little pride in - my word,
And it's not a place I have to hide in
Life's not worth a damn, `til you can say:,I am what I am"

I am what I am, I don't want praise
I don't want pity - I bang my own drum,
some think it's noise, I think it's pretty.
And so what if I love each feather and each spangle,
Why not try and see things from a diff'rent angel?
Your life is a sham, `til you can shout out:,I am what I am"

I am what I am and what I am needs no excuses
I deal my own deck - sometimes the ace, sometimes the deuces.
It's one life and there's no return and no deposit:
One life, so it's time to open up your closet.
Life's not worth a damn `til you can shout out:,I am what I am"

I am what I am, am what I am needs no excuses.
I deal my own deck - sometimes the ace, sometimes the deuces.
It's one life, and there's no return and no deposit:
One life, so it's time

Ray,
Christophe was one of the finalist of the French version of American Idol, called  Nouvelle Star, last year.  He got my vote when he interpreted another Frenchy's song:  Patrick Hernandez and   "Born to be alive".  His version was simply touching.

Ray,
What do you think about this version?  John's version is one of my favourites.

And he's just extraordinary in his interpretation of the famous Maria song, from the West Side Story Musical.
