Opportunistic Infection with T-cells @ 500 plus

Has anyone, besides me, gotten infections they felt they shouldn't have, because they had a high t-cell count? I have been positive almost 30 years and never had trouble, until 2008. I now have something called 'orbital cellulitis'. It says that people with compromised immune systems are at risk. I thought, since my T-cells are over 500, that I didn't have a compromised immune system. This stuff is serious, too. It can make you go blind. I had shingles in 2008, and it almost got in my eye. Ever since then, I have been getting these infections. I wonder if there is something besides T-cells that HIV can mess with in our immune systems?

As tough as HIV (poz in 1990) has been for each of us...physically or just mentally...here are some points that were raised in my mind with your post...

-1-Orbital cellulitis...Man, that sure explains my skin issues
-2-Shingles...I do not think I have had shingles but I can see where living through shingles would sure mess with your defense system (further than HIV).
-3-Living with HIV...I cannot stress how I would only want my HIV specialist to be my primary physician instead of being labeled a specialist. AND I have never met so many "quacks" in just trying to find the primary care physician which you have to have before you can visit a specialist.
-4-HIV messes more than just T-cells...and I tend to just let medical research and new discoveries assist in helping deal with HIV and new infections.

Living for 26 years(+) with HIV, I always look at every infection as being opportunistic and I expect that my reaction to an infection will be normal (like if not infected with HIV)....and when my HIV body is doing something different....then me and my docs will address it.

wow...I had to google that one, and looks nasty !
From what I have read it sounds like it is caused by a staph infection and doesn't sound like an OI to me ?
