Tenofovir Alafenamide, worth switching??
« on: March 14, 2018, 05:37:34 pm »
Good afternoon dear friends,
I'm currently taking as HIV med 4 pills once a day: Tenofovir Disopoxil Fumarate 300, Kemeruvir 800, Lamivudin 300 and a booster Ritonavir100. Can I switch Tenofovir Fumarate 300, to Tenovofir Alafenamide 25 mg (less agressive for health) in this my particular line of treatment? May be someone knows..
Thank you very much for your time and help!

Aggressive is not the word i would use for modern ART and health.
That said switching TDF out if possible for TAF makes sense

Anyhow seems like a possible combination, do check with your doctor if the combination is right, right dosage and right for you. "Kemeruvir 800 (darunavir) + Ritonavir,  Lamivudine + TDF" or "Kemeruvir 800 (darunavir) + Ritonavir,  Lamivudine + TAF"

BTW, interaction checker does bring up that using either TDF or TAF together with darunavir may increase the plasma concentrations of both medicines.

My partner is taking the combination of Rezolsta (darunavir & cobicistat) + Viread without any problems/issues for almost 2 years now.

People are on similar combinations, including a recent study,
Most should be fine, its just a note
