went to see Betty Tacy
« on: February 25, 2008, 09:53:29 am »
Ive been in a bad place as of late, due to forces beyond my control.
Awhile ago Betty told me to drop her a dime if i needed someone to talk to, and i did.
She has become a Dear friend.
Thursday i almost did something "stoopid", Friday was a day that almost broke me.
sat.I had to get away (run away) i was going to go up north, then i remembered Betty told me i was welcome anytime.
It was very rude of me to call and ask if i could drive over there to see her, she just told me to "come on".
Sat. i had a great time chatting and we watched concert videos i had .
sunday i lost it( must have looked like a idiot blubbering, nose running). She had some meetings sunday but told me i was welcome to make myself at home if i wanted. she just wanted to make sure i was alright to do the drive home. made me promise if i was in that bad place to call her before i did something "stoopid". no matter what time of day or night.
As i pulled away i thought she would do well to click the ignore button on the forums and change her phone number asap. when i got home i pm her to let her know i made it home . She sent a reply that she enjoyed having me , and i was welcome anytime.
I shudder to think what may have happend if i was in a hotel room all alone sunday.
Today i will go to see the social worker and have him help me to get a therapist, as i cant make it alone.

I want to thank Betty for her Kindness, her compassion and her hospitality.

I've read Betty's posts here for some time now, and I suppose that's why I'm not in the least bit surprised that she would be there in a pinch.

I hope you're feeling better today, Lucas.

Lucas,

Sorry to know that so much is going on and bring you into a bad place, but glad that you were able to reach out.

I'm not surprised that Betty was there when needed either.  It's the impression I get of her through her posts.

Lucas,
I am sorry to hear that you are going through a tough time, I am so glad you remembered Betty's offer.  I have only been a member of this forum for a short time and I have already begun to respect and appreciate everyone here esp. Betty and the other girls.  Everyone is always supportive and helpful with a little bit of humor thrown in which has been helping me a lot (you- included).  I wish you the best, fight the good fight. :) Please take care of yourself and let us know how you are doing.
Take care,
Snow

Lucas-

I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through such a rough time..but so glad to hear Betty was there.  She is one awesome chick.  :)

You've extended great kindness to me in the past, and I only hope I can do the same.  If there is ever anything I can do, please let me know.  You're not too far of a drive for me.

Thinking of you - and hoping life lets up on Lucas just a bit.

Awww, Lucus, sorry to hear you were in such a dark place. But I am glad that Betty was there for you. No doubt, she is one of the realest people on here. I just adore her. I wish I had someone close by when I had my meltdown. I think the closest one to me is Philicia and he is about 7 hours away. ^5 Betty!!!!!

Hi Lucas
I know what you have been going through - I had a similar situation about 15 months ago.

You did the right thing by sharing your thoughts with Betty - problems shared are problems halved.

My thoughts go with you and I hope my positive thoughts reach you

Keep smiling

A little update.
Yesterday i came home from work and took a shower, made lunch for work. Crawled into bed and cried myself to sleep at 7:30.I woke up crying. Went to work and called the social worker. he had a open slot for me, so off i went. all and all it helped.told me i can come in and dump on him when ever i need to.
he thinks i should see him next week even if i feel i don't need to. So i will.

Had to set up a f.m.l.a. to free up time from work for this. I told him no h.i.v. on the form.
he said how about chronic infection? I told him i told work i was going for mental distress, even better he said. I watched to make sure he didn't put down old Lucas is a "nut bag" on the form.
I did request they put old Lucas in a room for a week with a valium I.V. and maybe some sponge baths. but he was not going for that.
have to see how it goes.

( walking on the thin ice of a new day)
                                                            Lucas

Aw, a mini AMG for Lucas and BT.  :D

Glad to hear that you're doing a little better Lucas, and that fellow Metal Head offered her company.

Did you guys rock out?  ;)

Take care of yourself.  Seems you already have. :-*
