Hello everyone!

Long time no post, sorry.  Things have been a bit crazy for us.  Louie's in renal failure (stage 3/4) and has high blood pressure.  He's on 3 different meds for the high blood pressure.  The TPN is down to 12 hours a day, just increased the volume from 1200 ml to 1380 over 12 hours.  He was losing weight.  Now his testosterone levels are low and doc tried the patch for him.  His blood pressure went crazy, so much so we almost brought him to the ER (bp was 220/120) after an adjustment to one of his meds, it went down.  So no testosterone patch for him.  Now he's wanting to sleep an awful lot.  His t-cells are over 400 and undetectable.  Strange thing is his KS is coming back.  Still doing the phenergan and zofran shots for his nausea.  Even doc is confused.  He's going to a renal speacialist too.

It's been one hell of a long year.  It's hard to believe he's been on the TPN since last mid october.  The visiting nurse comes by 2x's a week now and she is WONDERFUL!  His HIV doc's nurse said that with such a low testosterone level that the only thing would be no sex drive (he's already lost pretty much all his body hair).  I told her he hasn't had a sex drive in over 4 years.  So she said, no problem then.  NO PROBLEM!!!  It's affected me too.  Haven't been intimate with another man in over 4 years!!!!!  Oh well, thank god for video's and webcams!

I changed jobs and am now working at a salon 1 1/2 miles from home, so it's a lot closer.  It's a private salon and I use to work with the owner a few years ago so she knows the whole story and understands that Louie is my number 1 priority, my sanity is 2'nd and work is 3'rd.  A lot less stressful than the last salon I was working in.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving for those of us in the U.S.  I'll try to post more frequently.

Love and light

Hi Rev~

My name is Cindy, I've been in the Forums since the end of June.  I remember seeing you in a few threads over the summer, I think, but yes, it has been awhile.  I wanted to say Hello and Welcome Back tonight, although I am so sorry to read about Louie's troubles.

Stay strong for him, as we will all do the same, for both of you.  You're in my prayers tonight.

Hey, babycakes.

It's good to hear from you.  It has been awhile.  I have to say that the overall "tone" of your post here is more upbeat than it has been in months past.  I'm happy for that.  I know the updates are generally "Louie Updates", but ya know we're all reading down in between there trying to feel out how you are doing as well.

Glad to hear about the new work situation.  I'm sure that makes a world of difference.

Hugs and smooches and stuff to the both of yunz.

Tim

Rev,

Good to hear from you -- it's been a while.  Sounds like you and Louie are managing as best you can.  And as Tim points out below, you sound considerably more upbeat than your last post.

Hugs,

Henry

Hey Michael,

As others said, its good to hear from you and to see you a bit more upbeat. Sorry about Louie's problems, but it sounds like things have calmed down a little bit for you.

Now you know better than to issue a statement like this around someone who has actually been without longer than you have!  ;D

What a week that would be!!! ;)
